Need some advice to change front drive axle for 1995 Range Rover Classic.24 Feb 2007 01:48 GMT4
There is a cracking noise, coming from my 1995 RR Classic drive axle.
Noise comes only when I make a left or right turn and it is like
cracking. Could someone advice me what do I need to be prepared,
before I start taking that front stub axle, constant velocity joint
Got it!23 Feb 2007 22:40 GMT7
First day of ownership with a nice steady 200 miles, felt like 20
miles & got 28 mpg without any bother. I don't find it slow, even
compared to a WRX. Mind you, I don't really drive that fast anyway!
It does drive very much like a P38, but it corners a LOT better. It's

Hmm
Seems that i may have possibly put a deposit on one.... :)
Is there anything special to look out for on it that could be broken?

BRC vapouriser adjusment23 Feb 2007 09:57 GMT11
Got a BRC AT90E on the current V8 3.5 disco, running open loop.  It's just
been for MOT and failed on LPG due to about 7%CO.
Having spent about 2 hours getting my CO meter to work, I concur, it's way
high at idle.  Petrol CO figures look about right.
WAY OT - A bit stuck!!! (Linux)23 Feb 2007 08:09 GMT17
I know it would be pretty difficult to get more off topic but..
I'm porting my home grown C apps from ROS to Linux but I've got
a bit stuck with issuing command lines from within the program.
It's probably a terminology thing, (I'm aware that Unix treats files
Blair Spam22 Feb 2007 20:38 GMT22
I understood that this current government said that they would take
firm measures against spam. Now the PM himself (well a flunky or two)
has spammed some 1.7 million of the population.
What would you consider  to be a just action against such a spammer?
Get me new toy tomorrow....22 Feb 2007 14:53 GMT7

TD5 rechipping22 Feb 2007 08:41 GMT9
Does anyone have any comments on rechipping TD5's.
I had mine done about 12mths ago now, its making about 140kw & 450nm torque.
The best $1000 I have ever spent on a vehicle.
The original clutch couldn't handle the torque and gave up the goast after
Craddocks experience.22 Feb 2007 07:47 GMT26
Maybe it's me. Called craddocks today to check if they had a 110 galved roof
rack in, yep £170 odd quid. So I asked nicely, if I come down would anyone
be able to help me lift it on the 110 so I could clamp it on?
No, we just sell them.
Congestion charging and LPG conversions21 Feb 2007 22:27 GMT10
For those of us that run our Petrol Engined LR's on LPG..... or indeed
anyone that "knows the answer"....
How does one get those nice folk at Transport For London (aka Red-Ken's
stealth-tax gestapo) to recognise that one's so-called "chelsea-tractor"
Staffs 4x4 Group Called Out21 Feb 2007 22:12 GMT5
I've mentioned our Volunteer Search & Rescue Team occasionally.
The 4X4 team was mobilised the other Friday night in the snow storm to
assist Staffs Ambulance Service.
I and a colleague spent the evening in the crew room at Stoke Ambulance
