servo assembly RRC21 Feb 2007 21:48 GMT4
There is a transmitter (I think, it looks like one) fitted in my servo
assembly (the big, black round thing that has something to do with the
brakes). There can be fitted two wires on the transmitter (there's
nothing now). Can anyone tell me what that transmitter is for and where ...
replacing dash RRC21 Feb 2007 21:37 GMT5
Any tips and tricks on how to replace the top dash of 1976 RR? I've been
trying for two days now, without any luck... although I didn't break
anything trying, you might call that luck!
Kind regards, Hans de Ruiter

sluggish 300tdi21 Feb 2007 18:27 GMT16
I'm not used to driving diesels discos, but my new '96 300tdi seems more
sluggish than it should be, particularly when picking up speed between
30mph-50mph. Makes a lot of noise but accellerates slowly. It's an
automatic. I sort of expect a turbo pick-up around that speed when I ...
Freelander dead battery and chimes21 Feb 2007 15:38 GMT5
Quick question that I hope someone here knows the answer...
I've a Freelander petrol and this morning after being parked for a week the
battery is dead.  It's on charge at present but for the last few weeks
whenever I've got into the car there has been two chimes and the seatbelt
LR wheel identification please21 Feb 2007 13:20 GMT21
After my recent post looking for some wheels, I've been offered 5
wheels, but I think they are RR wheels and thus not suitable for my
110 (weight capacity ??) Also not sure of rim size, (I need 16 x 5)
although the lister who has offered them gave me some sizes:-
Plan 9 - BeamEnds Mail Order Back21 Feb 2007 08:38 GMT6
After being nagged rather a lot, we're doing mail order again.
This is aimed mostly at those who don't have a "local" dealer
and can't get stuff elsewhere - it's a service rather than core
operation. The site explains things.
Disco 1 brakes21 Feb 2007 07:47 GMT13
Could do with replacing brake discs/pads on a 300TDI disco1, non vented,
non abs before the MOT in May.
1) Can I fit vented discs and still use the same calipers?
2) If not, what are the best options for maximizing the stopping power
Disco 300tdi manifold gasket advice20 Feb 2007 14:47 GMT3
Just about to have a go at sorting out an annoying leak next to
cylinder 4 from a rather tired  manifold gasket. I know how the inlet
manifold comes off and  I can just about see where the outlet manifold
bolts are. Can anyone  tell me if I slip in a new gasket by just
Petrol in a Td5?20 Feb 2007 14:06 GMT5
Hi all, my wife rang me all in a panic. She had half a tank in her 90 Td5
and mistakenly put just under14 ltrs unleaded in it. Realising her mistake
she then brimmed it with Diesel.
That would make about 3 gallons of petrol in about a 20 gallon? tank.

Discovery 3 tow ball stowage fitting instructions20 Feb 2007 11:53 GMT13
Always a sucker for a bargain on eBay I have picked up the detachable
towball stowage fitting for the Disco 3.  This is supposed to go behind the
left hand panel in the luggage area and is an 'easy fit'.  The bracket on
the fitting has two large holes and there are two equally large ...
Ah well...at least we asked.20 Feb 2007 08:35 GMT58
You recently signed a petition asking the Prime Minister to
"force all ramblers/walkers to wave a red flag when walking on
    a "public road"."
The Prime Minister's Office has responded to that petition and
TD5 Belt Tensioner20 Feb 2007 05:28 GMT2
OK, so the user handbook for my Defender TD5 says change the auxillary
belt at 96000 miles but only shows pics of the 300Tdi and the V8.
What is the best way to change the belt?  Where is the tensioner?
