disco turning circle / offset wheels17 Feb 2007 16:26 GMT9
I have started to trial my disco1 (sorry austin) and am trying to find
out some facts about offset wheels to give a reduced turning circle radius.
I've spent an age on the net and the phone today and the only fact I
have is that one supplier does a rim with 12mm offset. I'm not ...

Completely OT: Anyone know the names of these?17 Feb 2007 00:37 GMT10
I've been looking and asking everywhere for the names (or even better,
suppliers) of these fasteners that I used to bolt the thick window
perspex onto the outside of a boat 20+ years ago. It's getting tedious
trying to describe them over the phone or over the counter to people ...

Any Series Landrovers FS in Ontario, Canada?16 Feb 2007 00:31 GMT1
I'm so very sorry for posting such a mundane topic. I was just reading
my wife the thread entitled "We're doomed". Between sniggers and
chuckles we both thought that this has to be one of the better
newsgroups about!
Hoods15 Feb 2007 13:45 GMT1
Just a questions about soft tops.  Do they vary wildly in quality?  I
am looking at the Exmoor trim ones but have seen from other places,
such as All Wheel Trim and Famous Four, which are cheaper.  But are
they price cheaper or just cheaper?  Any experiences?

Disco II Diff Lock14 Feb 2007 21:48 GMT9
Had the center diff lock warning light come on this morning. Clever, this
motor isn't supposed to have a center diff lock, it has (semi-useless[*])
electronic traction control insread. Anyway I guessed the the picture of
the transmission layout with a cross in the middle would be ...

Trouble starting, some times (becoming less frequently) she turns over
urgently and fires up OK* most times just clicking like a machine gun or
very sluggish turnover once or twice then stop and the clicking again.
TDI Defender door locks.14 Feb 2007 11:20 GMT12
Did the door locks get any more secure during the years of manufacture of
the 300 TDI 90 and 110?  Is it any more difficult for a thief to get into an
R or S reg one than it was an L or M?
I don't want to buy a TD5 but equally I don't want every tea-leaf in town
