New toy arrived, now down to work.18 Mar 2007 13:12 GMT2
After a 3 year stint with a disco 2, I have had enough of leaking sun
roofs, iffy ABS which more often than not has the three lights on the dash.
Must admit that the chipper TD5 is fun though.
So yesterday my new toy arrived in the shape of a 110 CSW, with galvanised
Global Warming and CO218 Mar 2007 09:13 GMT49
(Highly relevant to anti 4x4 lobby !!!)
Interesting documentry on channel 4 tonight about global warming. It
seems that there is very strong evidence that although CO2 levels
historically have been high when the earth warms up, the level of CO2
No wonder Larry wasn't starting right!17 Mar 2007 23:54 GMT1
FFS!! Some tight twat had put a 60Ah battery on it & given the size of
the LR original at 110Ah, no f.cking wonder really. It was half the
bleedin' size & nearly half the Ah rating. The thing weighs 30kg!! That
is one heavy battery. TD5's need a good one too. Oh well, £92 - hope
Resting gremlins17 Mar 2007 16:09 GMT8
A pal at work (the one who catalysed me in to LR ownership) has a 200TDI
disco that was suffering from tight steering last weekend when I saw him
and drove it. I tried the machine in a car park and when I was steering
on full lock and released the steering wheel it straightened ...
half doors for defender 11017 Mar 2007 12:17 GMT1
I am in Aisa (outside EU) and I need half-doors for my 110 station
station wagon as well as a rear tailgate.
Anyone know where I can get these doors.
I'm assuming that series III doors will fit.
Series 11a overheating17 Mar 2007 10:39 GMT14
It's midsummer here, air temps around 38°C daytime. I use my ancient series 2.25
for spraying a bit, which means trundling round the paddocks in 1st low while I
murder the weeds using a pump driven by the rear PTO. Rad temp is controlled by
the original engine fan, assisted by a ...

110 Defender gutter16 Mar 2007 22:20 GMT3
Today it rained. I climbed into the drivers seat and a mini copy of
Niagara (that's N, not V) poured water all over my right leg as it
headed for the driver's floor.
I don't remember this happening on my old 110, but on both sides of this
Where is my engine oil going?16 Mar 2007 11:23 GMT22
My 130K 2.5TD has for the past few weeks started needing its engine
oil topping up much more often than normal. It still runs fine, no
black smoke, even on start up and feels as strong as even.
I'd noticed that the engine block around the base of the rocker cover

Just spent about 2 hours of mixed daylight and darkness trying to see why
Edward II is running like a bag of shite, and failed.
current theory is that the distributor is shagged, causing the timing and/or
the points gap to arse around enough to put the fire out.  I don't think

I've been over to have a look at a series 2A belonging to a local
scout group tonight.
Have fixed a few things and spent 30 minutes drving it round a field,
but still the clutch isnt behaving as it should -
200TDi into petrol 90 CSW 198415 Mar 2007 19:21 GMT5
Well I have my new 200TDi, Steve Parker conversion pipe, Defender TDi

Questions:
Does the 200TDi fit the 90 using the standard Disco engine mounts, remember
OT+  Camcorders with Pass-through15 Mar 2007 18:31 GMT7
Sorry to post this here, but maybe someone can help out.
I'm trying to find which camcorders will take analogue video and audio
in and squirt them out via firewire to be turned into avi  or mpeg files
on a PC.
