Noisey Clutch Pedal20 Apr 2007 17:00 GMT1
When I depress the clutch on the DiscoII, I hear a squeeky, groany
sound. Is this just the fork sliding along the shaft, and if it is, can it
be lubricated easily. Can it be the swing point where the pedal is attached.

Any LPG Gurus care to give some stab in  the dark random advice.19 Apr 2007 19:23 GMT26
I have an automatic 3.5 1989 rangie with a "bitsa" install.
Two small tanks in the boot (so no real useable boot space), and BRC
Elegance switch with a pair of toggle switches strapped on (they appear
to enable/disable the two fuels), which doesn't have a working fuel

Lands End and then from John O'Groats back to Glasgow this summer, with my

Daft fan question19 Apr 2007 09:28 GMT4
(Yes, I am a daft fan of Land Rovers but that's not what I meant.)
The cooling fan on my 1993 RRC 200DTi is on the whole time, from the
second the key is turned. Should it be or should the thermostat switch
the fan on and off? Or do I need an after-market Kenlowe type set-up to
300tdi power steering pulley18 Apr 2007 21:26 GMT10
My Discovery has just shredded the serpentine belt for the 2nd time in about
6 months. The belts don't snap initially - they split in 2 first - I managed
to drive home on the shoelace that was left.
Fitted a new belt and saw what the problem was. The steering pump pulley is

The rear diff was a little leaky on the mongrel.
So I cleaned off the inch of crap, cleaned out and tightened the drain

Question: Putting LR90  low gears17 Apr 2007 23:12 GMT5
Ok, newbish question: We've had our Landie (a V8) in the family for 18 years
now and it probably used its low gears once or twice in its lifetime -- I
know I should be ashamed, but the Landie has led quite an urban life.
Anyway, the problem is that now, when trying to switch to ...
it lives! (but missing slightly at speed and wont start when hot)17 Apr 2007 22:54 GMT8
The 101 lives again! :).
Strangely the exhaust sounds completely different now i have
compression on all 8 cylinders! not as burbly in a way :( and it roars
while on the choke now!
