Bent Track rod update10 Apr 2007 23:05 GMT15
As well as bending the trackrod, the rear wheels will now not rotate,
i assume that the liquid mud has got into the transmission brake and
seized it up (only a guess).
i can't back the 90 out to work on it unless i use low box and then
Well, a week in, and as a classic rangie owner...10 Apr 2007 22:53 GMT1
I love it.
Will rev but not idle, or idle but not rev on LPG (think the diaphragm
might be ripped), and it probably needs a new switch to "look" proper
because it is a bit of a bodge and the LPG gauge doesn't work.

300 tdi turbo and manifold, will it fit disco 200 tdi block?10 Apr 2007 20:09 GMT1
Hi, in process of getting a disco 200 tdi engine to fit in a 109. The
basic chassis fit is fine with 2.25 mounts, but because of the deeper
chassis rail depth on the 109 the turbo and manifold stop it locating
by about 2 inches; without manifolds and turbo it's a perfect fit! My

v8 flame traps..09 Apr 2007 21:08 GMT2
Sorry for the glut of different threads!
I came to put the flame trap thingys back on the 101 and noticed that
they are incredibly manky and presumably original.
I'm guessing that there is some sort of filter in them to stop things
so this is why it was ticking! (knackered v8 lifter!)09 Apr 2007 18:00 GMT14
Put the heads back on today and had a proper look at all the
lifters...
I found out why it was ticking:

wobbly 11009 Apr 2007 09:27 GMT5
110 CSW 200Tdi with later Landy 5-spoke alloys shod with BFG Mud
Terrains. Used everyday but only short trips, main job is Sunday
greenlaning or pay'n'play quarry days. Doesn't 'wander' or tramline,
but does feel a little wobbly at dual carraigeway speeds and can pitch
CV or not CV08 Apr 2007 20:51 GMT12
My 101 front axle project is nearing its end, with the diff case rotated
so the drive pinion points straight at the transfer box. The job has
been done and jigged so that the castor/camber have not been affected.
Now to rebuild the prop, shortened, and with a double Cardan joint ...
Interchangeability of 300Tdi cylinder heads.08 Apr 2007 15:17 GMT1
Is there anybody out there that can help me with 300Tdi cylinder
heads. I have a Defender 1998 110 with a 300 Tdi engine, the head was
damaged by a broken valve and taken to a workshop for repair and the
workshop has mislaid it!
What Silly Legislation Next?07 Apr 2007 20:27 GMT31
A place I do a bit of voluntary work at once a week has a sort of 'in
joke' sweepstake running as to what silly legislation we're going to
have to deal with next.
All of the following have been mentioned by someone or another whilst
Bent Track Rod.07 Apr 2007 13:33 GMT9
Iv'e  bent my 90s track rod upwards into the diff while playing off
road,
Whats the best way to straighten it, I don't want the hassle of buying
a new one and setting it up (i would not know how anyway)
110 TD5 as a daily drive??07 Apr 2007 13:26 GMT7
Looking to swap my Disco 300 TDi for a 110 CSW, never had a 110 before so
unsure what they are like as a daily drive, I do around 18k miles a year.
Comfort was a bit of an issue in my old 90 but that was mainly due to the
bulkhead digging in my back, not a problem in the 110 and ...
