Driver seat in a Disco 107 Apr 2007 10:07 GMT3
The seat support under the foam on the drivers seat has just torn in 2
on my Disco.  It consists of webbing and rubber on both sides which
acts like a spring and allows movement.
My question is can it be fixed or will I need to get a new part. If so

I knew my brakes were weak but the other day I had to pull up from
about 30mph for some traffic - (wouldn't have been an issue in my '96
3 series BMW).
I pressed the brake pedal and I began to slow down - I needed to slow
Fuckwit alert!06 Apr 2007 19:22 GMT51
Got three points today for talking on mobile. My fault, emergency call
out with my headset flat. Just goes to show though. I never miss an
unmarked car, ever. Missed this one. Total lack of concentration from
talking on phone.

Am trying to get hold of a pair of side frames for a CSW, but for some
reason they are a tad hard to come buy.
Anybody know of a source?
Tried paddocks and craddocks but no luck.
Disco 2 rear SLS not level.06 Apr 2007 17:57 GMT4
Just had a service on my D2 and as a part of that, a height sensor was
replaced on the rear air suspension.
I have just noticed that the car now sits about an inch and a half lower on
the drivers side than the paseenger side. The suspension does not drop

more v8 rebuild Q's! - replacing followers without cam05 Apr 2007 17:15 GMT9
Right, i've had enough of trying to get the damn crank pulley off so
am going to leave the cam for now and just do the head gaskets.

Seatbelts05 Apr 2007 09:11 GMT6
I am considering installing lapstraps in the back of my 110 ( to stop the
kids hitting me on the back of the head if I brake hard).
The kits available, provide an 80mm steel square plate to act as a
load-spreader behind the aluminium of the wheel arch.
My hairy little magnet !!04 Apr 2007 22:52 GMT2
Just changed gearbox oil at 94k; first time I think its been done. Looked
for the dreaded metal bits and found the usual pattern of magnetic powder
standing up from the magnet on the drain plug.
Question is, should I expect this after this mileage or none at all ?
