I do enjoy the occasional ebayer who having posted a 'bargain' which he
finds entirely acceptable is then pursued by folk who reckon he is having a
punt and make offers they feel acceptable much to the chagrin of the seller
plus silly suggestions .The seller who now reckons ...

110 Defender, '91, 200 Tdi
My radiator has finally given up the ghost.  It's final flourish was to give
the windscreen a good soaking in anti-freeze.
Whilst it's stripped down, I might fit an electric fan.  Pacet vs Kenlowe?
Re: RRC V8 3.5; why won't it start26 May 2007 21:50 GMT4
Thanks Pete,
I measure the ballast resistor at 6.83k Ohm, which seems to be exactly the right number.
Can it still be knackered?

RRC V8 3.5; why won't it start?26 May 2007 20:37 GMT1
I have a 1988 Range Rover Classic V8 3.5. Late december 2006, while motoring along happily, all of a sudden it just quit on me. Had to call roadside assistance for a tow to a garage nearby. It would start, but just wouldn't pull. Idling very roughly and blowing big black clouds, ...
RS componants26 May 2007 09:26 GMT8
I need a thermostat for a pair of kenlowe fans as the old one is dead.
Whilst I don't mind the kenlowe stuff I begrudge paying over the odds.
The genuine item is about 30 to 40 quid, however RS stock one for 12 quid.
Dose RS serve members of the public?

Defender 110 'crashing' noise over bumps...25 May 2007 12:26 GMT3
Morning all,
I've got a big old list of things to fix/worry about on the Defender,
but one which is puzzling me a bit at the moment is a loud sort-of
crashing noise when I go over a bump (e.g. speed hump) at anything
Disco for sale25 May 2007 10:04 GMT6
Hi folks, sadly due to financial pressures I have come to the decision that
my Disco, Edie has to go. For the last four years she has been 100% reliable
and I hate to get rid. She is a 94 TDi 300 with 12 months MOT anyone got any
ideas what I should put her up for? Or has anyone ...
Where to buy contaminated petrol/diesel mix?25 May 2007 10:02 GMT36
Wotcher all, I've recently found out that my petrol pinz, and probably
a fair few old petrol landies, will quite happily run on up to a 50%
or even a 75% mix of petrol and diesel (that's 25% petrol, and 75%
diesel).  I also read *somewhere* that companies such as truck
Tracking 110 oddness25 May 2007 08:21 GMT4
Maybe Nige may shed some light also as PO but the 110 has a worn inner edge
on one tyre on the front passenger side.
If the tracking was the issue would they both wear? It's difficult for me to
tell as the 110 arrived like that so I dunno if it's had an equally worn

off: imperial helicoil inserts24 May 2007 22:05 GMT5
I need to repair some 3/8" and 1/4" Whitworth threads in aluminium.
Does anyone know if suitable Helicoil kits are still to be had,
or--even better--someone who might do it for me? It's the base of a
microphone pistol grip, which dismantles, so it's easily posted...
