Almost too embarrassing to tell, but my first attempts in off roading
were not too good. I got stuck in the small sand hole and had only one
tire spin in low and high gear mode. The same in a small tire rut
crossing.... nothing you can do.

insurance brokers reckon it's difficult getting "carriage of passengers for
hire or reward" for a Land Rover.
Anyone got it, and if so, whence?

Well it's been a few weeks since my 'TD5 lean' post.  Good news is
suspension appears to be behaving itself and has not lent since then.
I like the climate control, makes getting back to the car from a long slog
round an old mine very nice indeed, specially when it's 30C outside!. ...

Bloody hell, just took off the old cat exhaust off the 300 tdi D1 &
the new pipe makes a big difference to performance.
The turbo spins up miles quicker & the torque is instant.
Anyone want a very decent tdi 300 cat front pipe they can have it, let

In my new RR III there is a fan within the centre console which runs for
around 15 mins after the door is opened and the puter kicks up.
Is this the ECU fan, if not what is it?
It's a tad noisey and I would like to replace it or lubricate it... any one

OK, the D1 has a lift at the back i reckon (can anyone with a standard
height D1 give me the measurement from top of wheel arch to centre of
wheel cap on front & back please?)

While replacing a badly scored disc on the front of my TD5 Defender,
it became apparent that the calipers were getting a bit stiff - I had
to put it in a vice to get the calipers to move right in!
Is it practical to re-piston and fit new seals to the calipers or is
