Replaced the slave cylinder last night on my S3. After bleeding I needed to pump the clutch a few times (10ish) before I was getting the kind of resistance that I was expecting. In the morning the clutch pedal was soft again. A few vigorous pumps and everything fine.

Well they do in normal use but not when I use wash-wipe. (Sorry Series owners this is fancy new technology and you can now smirk happily cos it's broke) I had the dash out recently to change a bulb, but can't think how that

Ok, Just off to a BBQ after spending the last hour trying to get the Crankshaft pulley off (changing the timing belt). No, I don't have a puller (the last one I did on a 200tdi just needed a gentle tap and off it came).

Does anyone have any experiance of this? I am converting my 300TDI to more of an offroad vehicle, but I still use it a lot on-road, and I was thinking of removing the anti-roll bars to get more articulation.

Here we go again, this time down South and right next to some very busy roads like the A3 and A31 that at this time of year are used by holiday traffic from all over the country getting to the S. coast. How they intend to police the zones they have put in force goodness knows.

Although, unlike Austin, I think I've killed this one. ('87 EFi, 107k miles) Went to North Wales today, upon reaching my destination the gearbox temp light came on and I didn't have reverse gear for a couple of minutes.

Does anybody know where a set of Longer Defender/RR Classic /Disco1 wheel studs (say 12mm-15mm Longer) be obtained from - Hopefully @ a sensible price ? Any ideas or sugestions would be great.
