75 quid for a flywheel skim?28 Sep 2007 09:41 GMT19
I just picked up the flywheel from my 3.9V8 from the local engineers
who were skimming it for me. I'm more than a tad peeved at being
quoted £25 and then being presented with a £75 bill, as "it's made of
steel" - what did they expect - cast iron?!?!

you can't get at the top bit to take it off, it fouls the threaded bit,
Which 4x4 can legally tow the most weight?27 Sep 2007 13:47 GMT43
I'm looking to spend about £6-7K on a rugged 4x4 but it must have both a
good carrying capacity inside (at least 60" with the back seats down) and be
able to legally tow a trailer and load of about 3500Kg. I'm not interested
in 7 seats as I will normally only have me and 1 passenger ...

Disco 3 Auto26 Sep 2007 21:58 GMT8
Would you believe it.
Auto box wouldn't change up or at least not every time it should have.
Was in dealers for a few days to sort out, since it would have been
dangerous to drive.
LR engine mounted 240V generator26 Sep 2007 21:27 GMT43
Anyone know of a system that does this? bascially a heavy duty
alternator that also gives you 240v AC via control box etc.  I
remember seeing something years ago on the net, but of course can't
find it now. Seem to remember it can also weld with direct DC. I

suggestions on what could be the cause, and what I need to do about
it?
Cheap engine oil: opinions?26 Sep 2007 18:24 GMT20
I've googled a bit before asking, but I came to the conclusion that it's
more a matter of faith rather than knowledge. As far as I know there are

from the same few vendors, so it mostly comes to the ...
