Rev counter all over the place12 Sep 2007 15:04 GMT6
Does anyone know the best place to look for faults on a rev counter?
300 tdi Disco (1997) and speedo works ok. However, I noticed tonight that
the rev counter is jumping all over the place. At first it was fluctuating
between 1000 - 2000 revs, but then when I slowed down for traffic ...

I have a Freelander TD4 (2001) which is refusing to start.
The engine turns happy on the starter and sometimes tries to fire, but will
not start.  Leave it alone for a couple of hours and it starts first time.
Only this time its been left a while, and still won't start.
New issue 96 Disco US - condenser fans12 Sep 2007 10:34 GMT1
Hi all.  After multiple overheating issues have been explored, I finally
have found that the condenser fans do not spin when the AC is on.  In trying
to diagnose the problem, are there any other wires that lead to the fans
other than the black and blue ones that come down from ...

Picture this, 2 shunters one in the tug the other on foot padlocking or
unpadlocking  trailors (a padlock placed on the "red" suzie to prevent the
trailor being used), The one on foot was at the headboard of a trailor doing
just that when the tug driver slammed under the trailor ...

I have just been stripping down an old engine I had stashed ready to

Turbo hose - Discovery TD510 Sep 2007 14:00 GMT7
Having just returned from a holiday in Cornwall, I found the small hose
connecting the turbo to the metal pipe into the inter-cooler had fractured
(causing some loss of power, black smoke and noise). I enquired at my local
LR dealer to be told that the small connecting hose can not ...

V8 head bolt sheared10 Sep 2007 09:08 GMT7
Whipping the heads off the 3.9 last weekend one of the outer 4 head
bolts decided it didn't want to move. Generous amounts of Plus Gas,
some gentle heat and lots of torque ended-up with the head shearing
off the bolt. Doh.
