Blimey, called into the Land Rover agent on Gibraltar and asked for
the price of a new 300Tdi Standard piston and they quoted £250! and a
set of piston rings (for the other pistons) was £70 for one piston! It
would be cheaper to buy a new engine at these prices.

I've got a P plate 300 tdi Disco and whilst driving home from my parents
house yesterday I got to about a mile from home and noticed there was
smoke/steam coming out from under the bonnet - only a tiny little bit,
hardly noticeble (not clouds of it) and at first I thought it was the

I have a 2002 Disco and have already replaced the rear pass sensor fpr
$300. The ABS, Traction Control and Hill Decent lights are still on.
Do I need to replace the SLABS module? Where can I get one cheap.

I changed the Disco exhaust last night, in front of my shed was a very
rusty chopped up at the back end exhaust. I went to get the blade out
tonight & someone has nicked the old exhaust ffs!! Now, it has saved me
a job, but f.cking Jesus wept.

Got a message on the dash today, 'fuel gauge fault', and at the same time
the gauge dropped to zero and the light came on.
Is there any common fault that causes this? I am guessing its the tank
sender?

Silly question - Fuel gauge sender on 300 tdi01 Sep 2007 10:30 GMT10
This is probably a silly question, but the fuel gauge (on the dashboard) is
constantly reading empty and the orange warning light is on.
I thought I'd have a look at the fuel gauge sender unit and check the
wiring, in case there's a simple wiring fault or break somewhere, but the
