Accumulator replacement P3817 Nov 2007 22:55 GMT2
Am I right in thinking once it's discharged, either by loss overnight or
using the brakes with the engine not running, then it should be under
limited or no pressure? I wan't to do the job myself.
Britpart oil seals17 Nov 2007 22:08 GMT19
loads of my landy owning mates have recently been mentioning hearing
about quality problems with a lot of the britpart oil seals - and having
helped my mate fit 2 sets of britpart valve stem seals within 4 or 5
months after they stretched/fell apart i'm inclined to believe it ...

Just been out and done a bit of work on the 2a for the first time in a

Chip off the old cop16 Nov 2007 18:33 GMT4
We went to B&Q for a new fitting as she is complaining about the kitchen
being in darkness, and returned along the local motorway.
Pulling up the slip road in the 110, the sound of a police siren became
audible over the mighty roar of the engine and the rattles, and I pulled
P38 Brake Pedal down on morning16 Nov 2007 17:58 GMT10
Once it's pumped it's fine.
Am I right in thinking accumulator?
The bloke selling it to me just rang, happened today, he's willing to
knock off the money etc?
Freelander16 Nov 2007 16:51 GMT10
I just noticeed something leaking from under the freelander (TD4)
It looks like either water or PAS fluid.  I cann't see anything from the top
of the engine.
Underneath the car is  a big plastic panel, so i cannot see anything that

2007 Defender 110 Landing soon15 Nov 2007 17:27 GMT2
I think Nige is a bad influence on me (or maybe it's the other way round),
we live a few doors from each other and are both serial Landie buyers.
Anyway, bored of the Disco 3, great as it is and have ordered a new Defender
110 XS CSW in Stornoway Grey. Pick it up next Tuesday and ...
Land rover on top of Mt. Elbrus (still there)15 Nov 2007 09:42 GMT1
Wotcher, I was watching an old episode of QI and they mentioned that
the highest mountain in Europe was conquered by a bunch of climbers in
a Defender, so thought I'd have a quick google for more info;

Disco exhausts!15 Nov 2007 09:30 GMT4
Well, managed to replace the full exhaust system on the disco tonight
with a nice new one.  Done on the deck, no jacks used (athough I do
have a 2" lift)  Took 30 minutes from start to finish, including
removing the tape Paddocks had stuck all over the damn thing!
LR2 - thumbs up / down?14 Nov 2007 23:43 GMT6
What's the net consensus on the LR2?  I test drove one recently and it really
wasn't that toy-ish (as the LR3) as I expected.
Just curious what everyone thought.
P38 diesel - engine vibration at idle / low speed14 Nov 2007 23:17 GMT13
I'm hoping that some kindly soul can help me with my infuriating
problem with my P38 diesel. I have an intermittent problem where the
engine vibrates quite badly at or around idle speed. This is when the
vehicle is stationary too so it has nothing to do with transmission.
