I doubt it's road legal, but a 2200 metric tonne payload and 128 wheel
drive...  And 128 wheel steer..  That's a 128x128x128 rather than the
Landy, a mere 4x4x2 ;-)

Defender export specs06 Nov 2007 19:45 GMT6
I recently came back from a trip to Namibia where I rented a Def TD5 100
station wagon which had steel doors and bonnet (with a spare mounted on
it).  is that normal spec for the africa export market?
I'm pretty sure it had a longer legs than my TD5 - at least there were a
Veg Oil, the saga continues ...06 Nov 2007 19:33 GMT1
Nothing really to say.  Done about 1k miles on veg oil/diesel mix to
about 30% with no problems.  Towed caravan for about 160 miles, ish and
can say the Disco is still running more quietly, with smoother power
delivery and it 'feels' just a tad more powerful.
Lidl charger06 Nov 2007 14:31 GMT13
Regular readers won't remember that we have a Fiesta SORNed in the path
because we can't afford to run a 'green' car as well as the essential
motorway load carrier and the off-road towing 110.
We kept the Ford because the daughter is finally going to have to drive,
what to look for in a 2001 P38A06 Nov 2007 14:21 GMT16
Hi Group
I am looking to buy a P38A 2001 Range Rover. Are there any problems that I

I am looking at a 4.0l motor and would add gas. What gas system is best?
GKN Overdrive - Advice Needed05 Nov 2007 20:22 GMT1
Left a deposit on a 300 TDi 90 today, cracking condition and runs like a
dream. It has a GKN overdrive fitted (electric operation via gearknob
switch) the seller reckons it cost over a grand (seems to be right from LRO
etc) but I have no experience of these devices. Will it be ...

Interesting-ish article on the beeb this morning;

The industrial stench of oil and grease gives no hint at the true
value of Peter Hobson's pile of old car parts as he throws the doors
Clutch / brake fluid missing, but no leak!05 Nov 2007 10:27 GMT4
Brake warning light came on my first trip out in the van in a while,
stopped and noticed the clutch / brake fluid reservoir was down to
minimum.  Have since topped it up, and then again when it dropped after
use, but checked again today after 1000 mile 3-day trip and it is still

P38a - Tyre Wear04 Nov 2007 11:14 GMT1
1995 P38a 4-6 HSE Range Rover - Front near side tyre (left hand side) shows
signs of rapid wear developing on outer corner edge.  I had the tracking
checked and small adjustments were done by local main dealer.  The spare
tyre was replaced but now this is showing same wear ...
