Blown a gasket26 Dec 2007 22:53 GMT5
My landie has been blowing oil out the filler tube since time immemorial,
but now it has the classic mayonaisse cast and I am losing coolant to boot.
Yep it is bubbling away when I take the filler cap off. I guess that means I
have blown the head gasket :(
What does this combo of dashboard warning lights mean?26 Dec 2007 18:33 GMT8
Bit wierd this, and on xmas eve, - just before we have to drive

1999 D2 V8. Car drives fine, but three dashboard warning lights
have just decided to appear, - all at the same time. Traction

DII audible pings when starting24 Dec 2007 19:30 GMT1
Does anyone understand the audible warnings when starting a Disco II
TD5?  I have a facelift 2003 model, that when starting the engine
sometimes sounds 2 or other times sounds 3 pings.  Not every start
either.  Usually a warm start produces no audible alerts at all.  No

Utterly OT : Tesco Phone.24 Dec 2007 13:51 GMT26
Cunning that you can use them  (wifi connection permitting!) from anywhere
for free to another Tesco phone.
Anyone else got one?
I just registered with them and got a Keswick STD code just because I can!
Pump on P3824 Dec 2007 03:10 GMT3
OK, there's a pump always running on the P38, i had a slow leak that sorted
the air pump out. The ABS pump is fine.
It seems to be coming from the ABS modulator block? Is there another pump in
there?
Re: RRC  Sudden loss of drive -  Update- still need ideas?23 Dec 2007 13:34 GMT7
In spite of Simon Isaacs raising my hopes I did remove the plate behind
the end of the mainshaft on the transfer box . I found that with both boxes
in gear when I turned the parking brake drum the shaft went round inside the
gear with hardly any resistance.
