| disco 1 door lock, help please. | 15 Dec 2007 22:03 GMT | 2 |
When I operate the fob all the doors lock, except the front passengers door, the button jumps up and down a wiggly bit and that's it. I can still lock that door with the key so it's not the end of the world, just a nuisence.

People Hi, I have heard some rumours that the new Defender (2007 MY, Puma) has developed a few teething problems (pun intended) with its gearbox and even more problems with the halfshafts and driving members/hubs on the rear axle

| 110 ignition lock | 15 Dec 2007 16:52 GMT | 6 |
I had a bit of a problem getting the key to turn in the ignition lock today, it had been becoming a bit erratic for a while with the starter position losing its contact during churning the V8 over. I guess it's simply worn out.

The law says, as far as I can determine, that everyone is supposed to wear seatbelts. It further says (in defiance of common sense) that I'm responsible as driver for children under 14 wearing the belts.

| Oi.. Bager! Diesel Whiff | 14 Dec 2007 20:17 GMT | 20 |
With the RR (03) After a run I can smell a whiff of diesel fuel around the engine bay. There are no obvious leaks and the odur appears srtongest around the area of the grill on the right as you look in the engine bay... though I admit it's hard to pin down a whiff.

| Removal of rear axle pinion nut. Defender 300 TDi | 14 Dec 2007 13:58 GMT | 9 |
I have spent three days in total trying to remove the rear axle pinion nut so that I can replace the oil seal on the diff. The last attempt was to heat the nut red hot and then ensuring that the shaft does not rotate by using a steel bar and then apply torque using a ratchet,

| BBC programmes (e.g. top gear etc) viewable online with just a web browser | 14 Dec 2007 11:04 GMT | 6 |
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/ Seems to work rather well although I can't get fast forward to work. Easier than dicking around with torrents or downloading their software. Works on my linux boxes too.

| Height sensor-Changing of.... | 13 Dec 2007 21:04 GMT | 3 |
Further to my post on 10/12/07. After a few days of fault finding, prodding and generally making a nusicence of myself asking mechanics daft questions i think my problem is almost certainly the back right height sensor. I have comprehensivly checked the bags and pipes for leaks ...

| Series III - Indicators Starting to Give Up | 13 Dec 2007 09:51 GMT | 6 |
1972 Series III Hard Top. Petrol. My [directional] indicators have been getting slower and slower and slower over the last six months. They either come on and stay on for about 8 seconds between blinks or, just recently, sometimes they don't even come on
