1990 3.9 RRC
Moved it a moment ago and the rev counter failed to operate.  This
sometimes happens on both of my RR but usually it springs into a life
after a few moments.  Not this time and when I turned the engine off the

110 new v old?30 Jan 2008 08:58 GMT8
I'm finding my 1983 110 V8 CSW a little uncomfortable (it would be nice to
have effective heating, no wind whistling through the gaps in the doors, and
comfortable seats) and I have been thinking about a disco (see separate
post).  SWMBO has other ideas and would prefer to keep the ...

So, in the Omega we have a nice English lady who tells me firmly where
to go plus a very severe German lady who tells me where the cameras were
before they started charging for updates. It sounds as though she might
dole out severe discipline if we ignore her.  We men really like ...
Disco II Fuel filler anti syphon grid?29 Jan 2008 13:28 GMT1
Whilst filling up the DII from the 20l jerry can the plastic nozzle from
the end of the jerry can spout got pulled off by the lip at the top of the
filler neck, this has disappeared down the filler tube <makes dark
mutterings about the design etc>.
Tricky side-lights problem29 Jan 2008 09:21 GMT17
200 Tdi 90.
The near-side side light fuse has recently begun blowing. I change it and
the lights are OK until again. When I arrive the fuse has blown again. I
have visually checked the wiring, pulled it all about and shaken the vehicle
Fast idle on Disco V828 Jan 2008 19:22 GMT6
My 95 3.9 automatice Disco has developed a problem with engine idle.
When the car is started the rpm will shoot straight up to about 2500.
It will then fall back to idle in about 500 rpm steps over a period of
about 10 seconds. This happens both cold and hot.

Disco 1 - Dippy auto question28 Jan 2008 16:32 GMT13
Continuing my list of questions, I now have the Disco 1 300Tdi auto and
have been attempting to check all its vital fluids. All seems well, but
the auto box fluid level seems very high. Does this matter?
The handbook is a little vague. I start the engine, put the lever from

Warning if you are in the RAC and go offroad.28 Jan 2008 10:11 GMT44
Seems if you have used your vehicle off road they will refuse
recovery irrespective of what broke and how it broke.

Green Laning.27 Jan 2008 11:36 GMT6
Just got back from a couple of hours laning the local area.  Phew,
corking time, some of the river Don has flooded and most of the area we
live on is it's flood plain so the ground, and many of the little used
tracks, are very water-logged.  Some places were definitely dodgy to go
