Bloody Paddocks again27 Jan 2008 10:26 GMT1
Is it just me, or are Paddocks completely incompetent at sending out
the right parts? Aside from having been waiting about 2 months for a
Series Door top, a recent order to them requested, amongst other
things, a set of series petrol manifold studs, and a pair of series

EKA verification26 Jan 2008 08:14 GMT8
Greetings (my first post here).
Some thoughtful previous owner of my P38 has scribbled a 4-digit
number in a corner of the owner's manual.
This might (or alternatively might not) be the magic EKA (emergency

Which Discovery?25 Jan 2008 21:52 GMT5
I am considering amalgamating 2 of my cars - a 1983 110 3.5 V8 CSW LPG and a
2003 Mazda MX-5 1.8i.  I still need something pretty big and good for
towing, but I need a little more comfort than I get from the 110.  I am
thinking of a Discovery.  I reckon I might get 12000 for the 2 ...

110 CSW - frigg'in seat belts.25 Jan 2008 19:39 GMT8
Last week I replaced the front seat belts in the 110 after it failed the
MOT on one that had begun to fray. I replaced the drivers side (fail) and
the passenger side not a fail but didn't always return and resulted in the
seat belt continually getting caught in the door latch. I ...
Glass fuses for old LRs?25 Jan 2008 17:58 GMT18
So where are you guys getting your glass fuses from for your old LRs?
They seem to be 30mm maybe a little smaller but some I bought at Halfrauds
are too long and they don't do the range anyway.
I need the normal 2.5, 8, 10, 12 &17 amp continuous (which you double for
Smoke on startup - valve stem oil seals?25 Jan 2008 17:31 GMT9
Hi, my 200TDi Defender smokes quite bad on start up.  I realise this is
nothing unusual but it seems to be getting worse.  Before I changed the
engine oil it was black smoke, now with new oil it's grey and almost
white.  Is this likely to be just the valve stem oil seals wearing ...
OTish: Pinzgauer UK factory to close24 Jan 2008 21:40 GMT4
BAe are shutting down the factories in Guildford and Farehem where
what they call the Pinzgauer 1 (really the second generation) is made,
retaining only 25 staff in Britain and New Zealand.  The new Pinzgauer
2 will be manufactured in South Africa where there is apparently spare

removal of a wiper motor in 300 tdi23 Jan 2008 23:44 GMT2
Have any of you ever removed a wiper motor from a 300 tdi disco.  Some
say it can be done from the front others say it must come out through
the dash.  Any advise based on practice would be welcome
