Rough running 1990 RR 3.9 EFi15 Jan 2008 00:19 GMT9
Evening all
The saga of the Green RR continues.   I have abandoned solving the
rumbling/whining noises from the front end in favour of this (new) problem:
Idles OK-ish at about 750-800.  As the engine speed increases it's
new exhaust dripping14 Jan 2008 23:55 GMT1
Joint on new cats back dripping water when engine is running. The clamp has
2 bolts and washers on my disco 1. I tried to tighten it but it still drips
the water. Is this bad it doesnt seem to be noisey . there is no hole in the
muffler to let out condensation.Tia

Hi Group
I live close to a school and see the problem every day except Sat & Sun.
What happened to parents being responsible for their children? You see two
(or more) women stop for a chat while their children run all over the place

The question; would a freelander pass its MOT if the drive to the rear

Where to buy MFT-94?12 Jan 2008 22:13 GMT5
Mate has asked me to buy 5l to fill his Disco gearbox when I'm in the UK
- he can't get it here, and reckons it is difficult to get hold of in
the UK too.
Any ideas where I could pick it up off the shelf? (in Bristol?)
Why everyone should keep an old LR in the garden!...12 Jan 2008 20:23 GMT11
...put the van round the back of the house the other day cos it is
closer to the workshop when I'm loading/unloading - well, since then it
has done nothing but bloody chuck it down (can you see where this is
going?!)  Need the van out for a 6am start tomorrow so thought I'd do it ...
Clutch Hydraulics12 Jan 2008 09:43 GMT2
DiscoII Td5
When I drove the car for any distrance, say 200km at 110km/hr (using cruise
usually) the clutch would lose a lot of pedal. After advice from this NG
about fluid leaking past the pistons, both master and slave were replaced

Helped a neighbour swap the engine in his rover car. K-series engine (same
as freelander?).
The engine he put in was out of a scrap car he bought and had the engine
running before the swap and it was fine.

rebuilding doors11 Jan 2008 18:47 GMT19
There's a company in Yeovil that refurbish doors, by welding-in new bits
of frame etc., at a flat rate of around 100/door.  I'm tempted to get
this done with Marge's middle row doors, because of the cost of new
ones.
D1 starting problems?11 Jan 2008 15:10 GMT1
I have a late 1996 built V8 discovery
The other day was very hot here (42 deg C) and I had to drive it into town
(30 klms), ran fine and temp gauge stayed where it should even with aircon
on full blast.

HID Lights11 Jan 2008 09:35 GMT9
I can't work out these lights, there is only one power connection that goes
onto existing connections at the headlamp, so the whole lot is running from
one power source. I can't see that being a problem, but the headlamp monitor
will be bollocksed for the headlamp that isn't ...

Hi all.  First post.
Does anybody know if there is an easy way to unstick the metering
valve inside the body of the diesel injection pump?  I've got to the
stage on my rebuild where thought I was ready to start the thing, but
