Bio Diesel12 Jul 2008 04:47 GMT14
Just been to Robin fuels in Keighley to ask about the RR & the bloke
showed me round his place. Chrikey, it's all very hi-tech with loads of
stages to get to decent quality fuel. £1.15 a litre
He reckons it's got more lubricational properties than normal diesel.

Remove broken stud in thermostat housing11 Jul 2008 16:50 GMT7
200TDI Defender engine.  Removed 2 of the thermostat housing bolts which
were very stiff but the third sheared off.  It's sticking out about 2 mm
from the top of the thermostat housing base.  I've tried drilling it but
it is stubbornly resisting my drill bits.  Cheap drill bits?  ...
Screaming fan belt cured11 Jul 2008 09:13 GMT7
The fan belt on my td300 would scream & howl louder than Tina Turner
every morning. I tried everything I could think of to stp it, most
reatments lasting only a coluple of days. However a couple of
applications of Waxoyl has done the trick. The wax provides grip and
UJ's ... again !!!09 Jul 2008 21:27 GMT19
Bloody feckin' useless lumps of feckin' cheesy steel.  Rear (front
prop) UJ has gone again.  I think I've replaced them all now in a year.
Bought a pair of UJ's just in case one was much older than the other
and will replace as a pair ... but ...
The new 11009 Jul 2008 18:56 GMT1
Well it's here and it's great. None of the gremlins of the 57 plate one that
was rejected thank goodness. Ride is much smoother, engine quieter too.
Build quality seems much better although there is a very small drip of water
into the passenger footwell but to be honest I can ...

Just to let you know that there is another Defender 90 on the road -
well not quite on the road, my son is just 18, has done the "Pass Plus"
but is still struggling with the £1500 for the insurance from Adrian Flux!
But this is just a thank you for the answers to the various ...
Back in the club from tomorrow!09 Jul 2008 12:59 GMT5
After being Landroverless for a few weeks the end is nigh, I pick up my new
110 Defender tomorrow and can't wait!! It's one of the new 2.4d Puma engine
ones and despite a bad experience with one last year I am hoping this one
will be devoid of the issues the early ones suffered.
V8 camshaft retaining plate?09 Jul 2008 12:41 GMT8
I've just got a new camshaft for the 3.9i I'm rebuilding for the 110.
It's one with the step machined into the end by the timing gears to
allow it to work with the retaining plate fitted to the later engines.
I know the interim engines (gear driven oil pump and dizzy) had a full-
G-reg 110 box09 Jul 2008 10:54 GMT4
OK, Been looking properly at the H-plater with no engine and box, turns out
the chassis and doors are iffy.
So, I'm considering the G-plate with the iffy 'box again.
So, any thoughts about which 'box it is, i.e. LT77 or LT85?

freeing off the caliper bolts which are 4 b*st*rd tight and also 13 mm bihex
.Sods law my 13mm 1/2 in bihex sockets are long reach ...
