Disco as sig. getting some whiney, whistley noises from it when accelerating, and on over-run, particularly under load. Lifted bonnet and had a looksee/listen and it appears to be the waterpump ... ish area.

New (300 Tdi) arrives tomorrow and the adventure starts again !! I intend to fit an old cubby box in place of the centre seat (does anyone really sit there ?1?) Unerneath is an electic thingy (there was no ECU on my previous T/D)!!! and which I wll have to reposition underneath ...

Anyone know if there's a signal I can pick up from the hotwire system to know when it's doing over-run fuel cut-off, or is it all done internally on the hotwire? I have in mind to crosslink to the LPG.

Just back from a cracking weekend. Great course, good weather (mostly) and LOTS of fun in our 101. Helped to pull out a Nissan something-or-other that got totally stuck in a wet muddy gully. Drove all over and enjoyed watching other peeps' faces as we wriggled along

My 2002 Td5 Discovery has been loosing small amounts of water from the cooling system (about 1 pt every 3 months) for the last 6-8 months. There's no sign of any leaks - I understand this could be a cylinder head gasket problem?
