Free to a good home - 1993 110 Stationwagon chassis30 Sep 2008 22:45 GMT1
Evening all,
Following from my chassis swap, I now have a spare 110 stationwagon
chassis and no space to keep it, so it's going free to anyone who will
collect it from Cambridge.
LT77 in a V8 110 chassis?30 Sep 2008 20:23 GMT10
Afternoon all,
Just spent a good few days swapping the chassis on the 110, so it's now
sitting on brand new Marsland galvanised 110 V8 model  - all went pretty
well, the body all fits properly and not too many bolts had to be ground
300 TDi funny cut-out problem,  possible fix30 Sep 2008 16:46 GMT6
Well,  my car (1996 SWB CSW) has been refusing to start now and again for
about five years or so.
Not often,  just once every couple of weeks,  especially if it had been run
and then left for less than an hour.
October unofficial, possible plan, w/e 11/12.29 Sep 2008 21:56 GMT35
OK, been studying the map a bit.
The lower part of Sarn Helen is still on the map as a BOAT, (although would
need to check the definitive map), from Glyn Neath up to Dyffryn Cellwen.
From there northwards, it's not obviously a RoW, except for some parts that

Auxilliary heater & Rear aircon advise please.27 Sep 2008 11:12 GMT2
I am researching into buying a late model Discovery II and wanted to find
out a bit more about the auxiliary heaters.
I have a kenlowe pre heater on my 300tdi running from a timer switch, and
this works a treat.

Gents Hi,
After 15 years of knowing them and more than 7 years of close contacts and 4
years of representing KAM in Greece our cooperation was terminated
yesterday.
Disco 2 Air con24 Sep 2008 23:58 GMT14
Whilst having the MOT done last week i got the garage to hook up their air
con tester/refiller.  When i left the garage the air con was working ok, but
a week later its stopped working again (clutch thing on compresor not
pulling in).  Have had a look for the dye that was put in ...
Motul Dexron III - any good?24 Sep 2008 23:40 GMT2
I changed the oil in my main gearbox approx 6000 miles ago and I have
just repeated the process as I was underneath changing the engine oil
anyway.  I have put the same ATF oil in as the last change, Comma
Automatic Transmission Fluid AQF (supposedly Ford ESP-M2C-33F/G).
Range Rover shimmy.24 Sep 2008 20:02 GMT13
OK, an update.
new tyres, new track rod ends (for the MOT), no bushes failed the MOT.
I looked into the preload - driver's side was a bit slack so removed a shim
from it.  Passenger's side seemed more or less right, might be a tad slack
Time required to replace V8 cylinder heads?24 Sep 2008 19:45 GMT4
As subject, really.   Does anyone either know what the "book" time is
for the job (on a Defender), or has done it and can remember how long
it really took.   The heads which are going on are secondhand, so
valves already in.   Thanks.
Airbag fault24 Sep 2008 17:42 GMT6
Airbag fault has appeared on my 2000 RR 4.0. It goes off periodically but as
soon as a portly person sits in the passenger seat it comes back on again.
Is it a faulty sensor somewhere deep in the passenger seat?
Lucas 133 Alternator23 Sep 2008 20:23 GMT3
I am trying to replace the bearings on a Lucas A133 alternator. Can
anyone explain how to remove the sliprings so that the rear bearing may
be replaced? I am unsure how they are held in place. Is it just by a
tight fit and the solder or does the end of the shaft unscrew and which ...

Hi! - lurk here often, even asked a couple of questions! I have a new
project, a '71 SWB petrol IIa in bits... My 3rd LR so not a newbie,
previous owner started dismantling it and I've inherited her in

6 wheel disco on A1 today?22 Sep 2008 23:55 GMT2
Anyone here? I f.cking hope not, it looked like it had been built by Roy
Orbison & Stevie f.cking Wonder, two rear shells roughly hammered together,
then welded. There was some paint in evidence, but most had fallen off.
It was Northbound near Oakham turn.
