Transferring Oils31 May 2009 10:30 GMT5
I'm killing time while outside ATF is slowly syphoning into the dipstick
filler of an autobox. You would imagine some nice person would be marketing
a handy tool that would speed the process up beyond that of  Brian the Snail
on mogadon. I've tried the handy dandy one size fits ...
Scorpion Racing30 May 2009 06:57 GMT5
Anyone know if Scorpion Racing are still trading?
They haven't answered their phone (to me) for days and their website is
still showing special offers for February.

I took this week as leave to get to work on the CSW, in particular
replace the extremely rusty rear crossmember.
It's sitting on the drive, wheels off, gas tanks removed all bolts

If, when you press the brake pedal or select reverse, your disco II
illuminates the diff lock light and goes "bing bing bing", this means that
it's blown fuse #25, which appears to supply both brake and reversing
lights.
Stink!25 May 2009 13:56 GMT4
There's a terrible stench around here at the moment!
Electric Windows25 May 2009 11:55 GMT2
In my 98 300 tdi Disco the rear windows never worked unless the car
was in motion.  They never worked when it was started first and only
kicked in later in the journey.  If I turn off the engine and start
again it is the same.  Wait for a bit and then they work again.
Extending fuel tank vent hose23 May 2009 20:01 GMT1
All,
There is a small (in diameter) vent hose to the fuel tank on my
TD5 defender, under the left wheel arch.  I guess this is to
let air in when fuel is used.  I'm currently working on
Diesel Engines21 May 2009 01:56 GMT15
I'm looking for my first (diesel) landrover (defender) and am trying
to get a handle on what the different names mean.
What are the differences between a 200TDi, 300TDi and TD5?  From
another question I asked I believe the TD5 is the latest and is more

swmbo followed me home last night and said that the Disco was smelling

Popped the bonnet and had a look at the fuel system pipes, looked like
one of the leak of pipes had perished, so replaced all three.
First Landrover18 May 2009 07:42 GMT25
I'm in the process of buying my first land rover (always wanted one).
I'm struggling to find non biased advice.  I've been searching on ebay/
autotrader etc and am surprised at how expensive (comparatively) they
are, eg P Reg Defender 90 diesel - 6500GBP @ 90000 miles.
