Disco 1 200TDI - Gearbox oil28 Jun 2009 11:54 GMT2
My 200TDi is due for a gearbox oil change.  The unit has done 128Kmiles from
new and still appears to work / feels lik new.
I have always change oil regularly and used castrol TQF but it is almost
impossible to buy these days.

Oh dear !
Fuel tank suddenly leaking..Cat litter to kill the smell meantime I cant
drive it ehe. Slow drip.
I've sourced a replacement tank at 85 quid.

I need some small replacement parts for a Landrover Defender 90.  For
example, to the right of the Steering wheel is a cluster of two
switches (Hazards + ??).  The small plastic surround that holds them

The clutch on my 300tdi 90 works perfectly ok but I have recently noticed a
very small amount of oil seeping down the shank of the clutch pedal
Where should I start looking or what should I start worrying about ?!

Anyone know of make/models of head unit that will operate with the
Harmon/Kardon amp unit in the disco II?  
one of the navigating arrow buttons has died, and keeps making erratic

Just got back from a mad dash round Ireland and discovered that:
The Irish roads are truely crap once you get off the main roads.
My shocks are knackered big style and to cap it all......
The steering box (the unit what the power steering pipes go into) is

If some miscellaneous sharp object is going to destroy a tyre by going
through the sidewall, then the tyre thus destroyed will always be almost
new.

I have a 1996 300Tdi and I have been thinking about blanking off the EGR.
Anyway 3 weeks ago I cut a baked bean tin lid to an oval shape to fill the
blank, why bother buying a plate when you can make one.
Since then and over 2 tanks my fuel consumption has shot up, last tank

I am in the early stages of replacing my disco2 and was just wondering, I
can see the series 2 is much heavier i tow a 1500kg caravan would a late
series be a better buy, any advice please.

My other half has decided that a sensible replacement for her Vauxhall

Does any one know what size the studs are on the wheels of a a
landrover (Defender 90)?  I'm trying to buy some bolts that are the
same size to mount a hi-lift jack when not in use.  THe idea is to use
the same size bolts as the studs so that I can use the same locking

Anyone got any idea what the sulphur content is in typical UK diesel?
the service schedule for the DII TD5 says "if used on diesel with sulphur
content over 1%, oil change interval must be reduced to 6000 miles".
otherwise, it's 12000.
