Any thoughts on how difficult it'd be to convert a TD5 disco II to auto box from manual 1) using the 'box from another TD5? 2) using the 'box from a classic rangie or disco I?

My son is going to look at a G reg defender with the above engine. The vehicle originally had a diesel unit fitted. The previous owner is saying that the power steering has been removed. Not sure what this really means. Apparently it was something to do the previous owners ...

I was in a shopping centre yesterday and when I came back to my car there was a very nice looking disco parked next to me. I have tried to find out some info on it but cant seem to find any so I thought I would come to the experts.

Had a vibration that's been getting worse over the last few weeks, and finally managed to get underneath to have a look see. The props themselves are ok, but where the front prop attaches to the front diff, mucho movement.

I tried using the air con today in mi P38 Rangie. It seemed to blow cold but a symbol depicting a notebook and an exclamation mark popped up in the heating display. The manual says it has to see a garage. Any idea's what has gone wrong?
