| trac off + check engine warning 92 SC400 | 09 Jun 2004 00:32 GMT | 5 |
I went in for a NYS inspection and failed on emmissions. I suspect it has to do with the warning lights on the dash that have been on for a while. Car runs great. Any ideas. Car has 163000 miles. Thanks

| The Wisdom of an "Intelligent" Transmission? | 08 Jun 2004 13:03 GMT | 9 |
I've been thinking about the whole idea of an intelligent transmission. Is it a good idea to begin with? How exactly does it work? What parameters does it change based on the feedback it receives? How long does it take to "learn" a driver? minutes? hours? days? weeks? months?

| Why doesn't Lexus ask it's customers? | 07 Jun 2004 21:44 GMT | 4 |
I have an '03 LS430 Custom. Previously, I had a '99 LS400. As the head of a software department for an eCommerce company, I found that our customers were by far my richest source of ideas for product improvement.

| LS 430 downshift hesitation - solution found, details within | 05 Jun 2004 19:21 GMT | 1 |
Concerning the LS 430's hesitancy to downshift when throttle is applied, we found this is at least partly attributable to the artificially intelligent transmission learning the habit. I successfully 'trained' mine to downshift much more aggressively by using the stick to force ...

| Which Lexus? | 03 Jun 2004 03:36 GMT | 18 |
Assuming that you've won the lottery and that you are in the market to buy a Lexus. Which model would you choose? Cost not-withstanding of course... one thing I've learned in life is that the most expensive doesn't mean the best quality.

| Was set on a 325i until I drove an IS300 | 03 Jun 2004 02:32 GMT | 7 |
I was looking hard for an '03 325i with the sport package until I decided, for the heck of it, to drive the IS300 yesterday. Wow! Not quite as "classy" inside as the 325, but that's okay. It seems to be well made, the performance is better, and it is Japanese, so I can put my ...
