Yesterday I got my two recall notices:
The first lines were: 'Lexus is dedicated to the Passionate Pursuit of
Pefection'   and as such, they will replace may trannsmission and fuel pump. Of
course, at no cost to me, just at may inconveneince!

This is almost enough to make me go buy one !!!
A woman bought a new Lexus LS430, and returned the next day,
complaining that she couldn't figure out how the radio worked. The
salesman explained

Lexus has upgraded rotors which it puts on the ES models that have brake
problems. It does not put these on all the ES models. It only puts them on the
ones the owners compalain about in the 2003 and 2002 years. My 1992 and 2000
year ES 300 have had this problem and Lexus does not ...

Many (14000) 2004 LS430s are being recalled for new transmissions. This must
be serious or Lexus would not be spending that kind of money. My LS is one
being recalled, but of course there is more info on the 'net than the dealer
has at this point.
