Lexus Style29 Jun 2008 20:51 GMT12
Without a doubt, Lexus produces very fine cars.  However the
current LS 460 is not a very fine looking car.  The front
and rear do not blend very well, the dash has a high hump
and that ugly marble wood they offer needs to go.  The
RayO , Re: LS Visor creaking29 Jun 2008 02:52 GMT5
Ray - I have an 04 LS, and both front visors creak loudly when pulled down
(or up, for that matter).  I tried sliding them out on the shaft as far as
possible, and lubricating, but to no avail.  They still stick & creak as
loud as ever when used.
2000 RX300 - Sun Visor keeps dropping24 Jun 2008 03:14 GMT8
Folks --
Sun Visor on the passenger side is very loose .. and does not stay in
place .. causing it
to drop suddenly while I am driving (potential hazard).  Bought the
Tire Air Valves - ES 35023 Jun 2008 04:06 GMT4
It is my understanding that the tire pressure monitors are imbedded in
the tire valves and, that a small transmitter provides the tire
pressure data to the ES-350's monitoring system. In the past,
conventional wisdom recommended replacing the tire valves whenever the
How to Chase Squirrels away?20 Jun 2008 12:22 GMT4
A while ago I posted about my leaking right front air shock. It turns
out that a squirrel had eaten into the air line going to the shock.
The tech who came out to tighten the wheel nuts was the one who found
the problem and he was from Miami and said that very often down there
Using synthetic oil19 Jun 2008 12:06 GMT17
I believe Lexus uses standard oil for its 5,000 mile oil changes on GS 350
cars.  Is there a problem with using synthetic oil instead (at say Jiffy
lube or other non-Lexus garage) and extending the oil change period to 7,500
miles?  Would that mess up the warranty?
Using Conversion Kits To Make Your Car Run On Water14 Jun 2008 12:27 GMT3
...More and more people are today using water fuel technology in their
vehicles not only to save on fuel costs, but also to provide a boost
to the running efficiency of the vehicle...

oil changes and other maint.12 Jun 2008 01:18 GMT4
Is there any problem getting scheduled maint done at the shop of my choice?
The owners manual makes it seem like the dealer is the other place that can
do the job without messing something up.
What do you use to clean and protect the Lexus RX 300 Navigator Screen?09 Jun 2008 09:30 GMT3
What do you use to clean and protect the Lexus RX 300 Navigator Screen?
Is there a film you can protect it with?
How do you remove dust from the screen surface?
Thanks.

Here's a strange article on Lexus... someone who likes the brand!

Why was I deleted so quickly?08 Jun 2008 03:28 GMT14
I had a question about an oil change and tire rotation.  I want to thank
the one person who answered me (and basically confirmed the service
rep's opinion),  but I think it STINKS that my post was deleted after
ONLY ONE DAY,  after I waited 2 days to be put up on the board (I know I

JD Powers quality survey: Mercedes Sindelfingen top assembly plant07 Jun 2008 22:38 GMT1
"Porsche, which makes its home in Stuttgart, Germany, came out as the
top automaker in the annual quality survey, while the Mercedes-Benz
plant in Sindelfingen just outside of Stuttgart was named the top
assembly plant. Porsche's Stuttgart plant, where the 911 cabriolet and
Lexus 2008 GS 460 ranked last again?07 Jun 2008 01:48 GMT19
8 speed tranny is good marketing, but I guess the 100 ms shifts make
it a clunker: "The tranny doesn't keep up, endlessly hunting for that
ideal gear (remember, there are eight of them) and delivering
lethargic shifts when in manual mode."
