| Weird problem with 1995 Mazda 626 DX -- need good advice | 14 May 2004 21:22 GMT | 1 |
Hi, My 1995 Mazda 626 DX stalls very intermittently every day -- usually when decelarating or idling. A Mazda dealership ran a scan but no codes came up. The mechanic speculated that the distributor was the problem but he was not sure.

| I goofed! | 14 May 2004 15:31 GMT | 3 |
While building some shelves in my carport, I got some shellac spatters on the hood and front bumper of my baby! Shellac is thinned with alcohol, but even covering the spots with an alcohol soaked cloth didn't soften the stuff. Any ideas?

| VIN numbers - Miata/Eunos | 14 May 2004 11:21 GMT | 2 |
I understand that the Miata VIN numbers are not quite the same as the Eunos Roadster VIN numbers? I am looking for a new engine as my Eunos Roadster has the infamous short-nose crank problem, but am getting confused about the VIN numbers.

| Plug Wires | 14 May 2004 00:48 GMT | 4 |
Are sparkplug wires a "get what you pay for" kinda thing? Some of the more expensive ones tout a horsepower gain. Gettin' ready to replace those, too. Any opinions?

| new or used | 12 May 2004 21:09 GMT | 1 |
Like John just spammed, Mazda below invoice. The local LA newspapers say $8K off MSRP, I expect a basic car to be about $18K. I see 2001 and 2002's at less than 20K miles for $14k. $4k is $4k, but how does one decide. Been through Autotrader and Miata.net watching the cars for ...

Looking for a bit of advice to help keep my beloved Miata on the road. It is a 1990 1.6L with 141,000 and running well (apart from the N2O). I recently failed the new CA dynometer smog test at 25 mpg with 802 ppm on N2O (limit 786), HC measures low at 38 (limit 108) and Co is 0.12 ...

Time has come for new tires on my '94 in 185/60-14 size (or maybe 195/60-14). I'm looking at Sears who carry both the Yokohama A550 (the 195 is cheaper by $7/tire than the 185!) and the Kumho 716 which is just over $200/set. Are the Yokos worth the extra $50 to $80 more than the ...

| Drive train sound | 11 May 2004 04:02 GMT | 4 |
Anybody has had a rubbing sound from their drive train on coming back on the gas or braking? I first thought it was the exhaust, but on thinking it over, it is definitely a sound of a rotating part. I looked at the longitudinal drive axis, but cannot see
