| Freeplay in steering. | 29 Oct 2004 01:29 GMT | 6 |
My '92 Miata has about 3/8" to 1/2" freeplay in the steering wheel at all positions of rotation (measured with the car at rest). My service mechanic says that he can find no loose parts and no play in the steering linkages. He believes that the play is in either the rack and

I must admit, while shopping for cars, I thought the headrest speakers were the dumbest thing I'd ever seen. THEN I bought a car with them!! they are COOL! I can actually HEAR the stereo while blasting down the freeway with the top down! Now that I've experienced them, I ...

| Need Advice on All-Season Tires | 26 Oct 2004 17:12 GMT | 6 |
I have a 2002 Miata with the awful Turanza tires that are worthless on slippery roads. I want to replace them with a quiet and safe tire that is useful in snow that is up to a couple of inches deep and yet will work OK during the summer. My Internet review on this subject ...

| Alloy wheels for winter: "Sport Edition"? | 26 Oct 2004 15:30 GMT | 5 |
It's time to buy wheels and winter tires. The current plan is a set of 195/55-15 Michelin PA2's on 6 or 6.5" wheels. I'm thinking about splurging on some alloy wheels this time around, but the selection in 6-6.5 is limited. [The only 6" ones are

| Wheel conversion | 26 Oct 2004 15:28 GMT | 4 |
Does anyone know if the 16 x 6.5" alloy wheels from a 2003 Miata will fit on a 1999 originally fitted with 15 x 6"? I don't see why not as I don't think there are that many differences in the two cars where the wheels would be concerned. Does anyone know how I can find out

| Ignition or fuel? | 26 Oct 2004 01:31 GMT | 28 |
I have a problem with the engine heavily backfiring in the exhaust at 5000+ rpm if I put my foot into it, particularly during merging operations on the Interstate. Maybe my foot is blocking the air flow and I should take it out of the exhaust?
