Turret oil leak17 Oct 2004 00:09 GMT1
Last week replaced turret upper boot and filled with oil (it was bone dry).
Noticed fresh gear oil on the drive. Re-opened turret to find most of it
gone. Working with a mirror and torch it seems to me that the o-rings that
seal the shifter tube are leaking. I've only recently ...
Why do California timing belts last longer ?16 Oct 2004 22:04 GMT16
I was thumbing through the manual, and it states the timing belt should be
changed at 60k, but specifies 100k for cars originally sold in California
(and a few other states, which I now forget)..
What gives ?   did they ACTUALLY put better belts in some cars, or what ?

Hi!!
Hearing some sqeaks which are ever so soft to incredibly loud - not very
consistent either. Started hearing them after I had the timing belt
changed. Can't always reproduce the sound.
looking for online salvage yard web site15 Oct 2004 23:49 GMT1
I had a website bookmarked that showed cars around the U.S. from
different salvage yards. The site had pictures and a description of what
was left on the car and I remember that I could search by category to
see only 1990-1997 miatas.

Soft Top Latch Springs14 Oct 2004 20:10 GMT8
Top latch spring, left, has finally rusted through and broken.  Of course, I
cannot buy solely the latch spring from Mazda Dealer; you have to buy the
entire latch assembly to get a new spring.  Interesting that the Left latch
assembly lists for $115 and the Right for $145 - uh, at ...

2002 Miata Clutch14 Oct 2004 09:28 GMT5
Good afternoon,
I have a 2002 Miata with the six speed transmission and 16,000 km.  Lately I
have noticed a stumble when shifting when the car is cold.  Does anyone know
of any warranties or other dealer information about any fault with this?  I

charging problems13 Oct 2004 14:48 GMT3
Starting late last summer the original battery in my '91 Miata would run
down after a week or so of use, so I got in the habit of leaving it
hooked up to my trickle charger when I wasn't using it.  I replaced the
battery, but ran that one down probably three or four times (after ...
Ok...I've got a little over a year to think this one over...13 Oct 2004 04:15 GMT9
Hello everyone. I have been lurking around this board for the last
couple of weeks searching the archives and new messages for as much
information as I can find on Miatas.  Here's the deal.  In a little
over a year, maybe a year and a half, I intend to buy my first real
Speaker wiring12 Oct 2004 23:23 GMT1
A number of UKaftermarket suppliers for MX5 recommend and supply a JVC 10cm
replacement headrest speaker. These are rated at 4 ohm.
I understand that the original Mazda speakers are 8 ohm. I assume that these
are wired in pairs and in parallel - giving a nominal 4 ohm impedance. ...
