| overheating at speed | 31 Jul 2005 00:52 GMT | 16 |
I have a 97 1.8 standard mx5. Today was hot in the UK (probably about 85F). On a long motorway journey the temperature gauge was creeping up. This was at a steady 75-80mph. Slowing to 65mph lead to the temperature returning to normal. Coolant levels normal.

| putting on new Robbins top | 30 Jul 2005 04:41 GMT | 5 |
My husband and I are putting on a new Robbins top, and are stumped. The cable for our old top was NOT THERE on either side when we took it apart (previous owner), and we're putting on new cables. So, before we commit and rivet them in place, should they be top up, with curved metal ...

| Miata A/C | 30 Jul 2005 04:29 GMT | 3 |
I recently had to take the '97 Miata in for an A/C charge. As it is not my car, I took it to the local Mazda dealer. I was charged $160 for recharging and road testing. I suspect that I was overcharged (in dollars, not refrigerant). How

| small hole in plastic window | 29 Jul 2005 07:08 GMT | 12 |
My wife's Miata got a small hole (poked with a ski pole) in the plastic window. We are planning to sell the car in August, and would not want the embarrasment; the car is otherwise in mint condition. What's the cheapest way of fixing it (say, within $300)?

| Power Outlets Not Working | 28 Jul 2005 04:05 GMT | 3 |
One of my power outlets (the one in the center console) has been working on and off for the past couple weeks. A couple days ago, it quit working entirely. Yesterday, my main power outlet stopped working. What could this be from? Is this the start of a bigger electrical problem?

| my car is an O.G. | 27 Jul 2005 19:00 GMT | 5 |
Hello newsgroup! You ever see those cars with the loud, loud speakers and the spinners, all pimped out, rollin down the boulevard? And sometimes they've got these decals, to make it look like there are bullet holes in them. But

| Miata Vacation 2005 | 26 Jul 2005 03:28 GMT | 9 |
My wife and I recently took a 3000 mile trip in Juliette, my 1993 red-and-tan Miata. We went from Detroit to Mississippi, via Ontario, New York, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and North Carolina, and returned straight north via Ohio.

| timing belt change needed? | 26 Jul 2005 00:36 GMT | 41 |
My '91 Miata has about 29K real miles on the odometer and has never had the timing belt changed. Should the belt be changed, or should it still be good for 60K, despite its age? ----== Posted via Newsfeeds.Com - Unlimited-Uncensored-Secure Usenet News==----

| Pop sound from left front | 23 Jul 2005 16:40 GMT | 4 |
I have a predictable noise coming from the front left side of my 97 Miata (82K miles). It happens after driving for a bit and then applying the brakes. I notice it at low speeds, but perhaps just because the general noise level is low. The sound is a single

| Differential strength | 21 Jul 2005 12:08 GMT | 4 |
Hopefully my last question on differentials. I can't seem to locate the '94+ parts, but one outfit quoted me $350 for a locking differential out of a '93. I recall reading they weren't particularly effective, but my question is, are they any
