Installed new water pump. Reading shows hot. No indication car is running hot. Could it be the thermostat? Fluid apparently not getting to where it should go?

I cleaning up my 97 Miata, I noticed that two bolts had loosed and fallen out--one of those holding the sun visor and another holding the plate for the hard top beside the passenger seat. I'd like to replace them, but I don't know the sizes. Can anyone help?
