I took the plunge29 Jun 2006 22:50 GMT3
Last evening, I brought home a 2006 Miata Sport, six-speed manual, Nordic
Green, with the suspension package.
I realize it's not going to be as quick as a white one, but now that the NC
State Highway Patrol has brought BMW motorcycles up here to the area for
Hello29 Jun 2006 20:11 GMT7
Been out of the loop for awhile (computer problems) came back tonight and
thought I was connected to the Automotive History Channel Newsgroup!
Nice stuff guys, hand cranks, 2CV's, MG's, and on and on. Cool stuff!
My hand crank experience is limited to 4cyl propane engines on ...
Differences between the LE, SE, Etc.29 Jun 2006 17:58 GMT4
Just bought a beautiful 2002 LE with 21k miles. I'm wondering if there
is one comprehensive source of information on the differences between
the various models in each model year.  Just want to build up my
overall knowledge of Miata's!

Clutch questions27 Jun 2006 05:37 GMT21
In the last two weeks my 95 Miata (153K miles) becomes extremely
difficult to get in gear.  Reverse being so impossible that I generally
will just push it myself so I don't have to "deal with it".  Once it
gets warmed up it gets easier but R is still hard.  There is very

miata power window motor weight27 Jun 2006 04:11 GMT2
Since we were discussing the weight of the power window motors, I
decided to go ahead and weigh one since I am gutting a few doors to
auction the parts.
It comes out to a little under two pounds for the motor alone.
mazda 626 transmission26 Jun 2006 09:32 GMT1
cannot find old transmission filter to replace. New filter came with pan
gasket, but upon removal of pan the filter is nowhere to be found.
Low rough idle.24 Jun 2006 18:33 GMT2
My '90 (short nose crank) miata suddenly developed a low stumbling idle
(200 to 500 rpms) with intermittant surges to 1,500 rpms and then back to
stumbling.  It runs smoothly at anything above 1,500 rpms and pulls hard
to redline through the gears.
Cat Back Exhaust23 Jun 2006 04:30 GMT2
My muffler has blown out.  It was from a cat back job done by Midas by the
previous owner three years ago.  It sounds like a tough little car now but I
want to replace it with something close to stock.  Any recommendations on
what to get?  I see ANSA mufflers on Ebay for cheap ...

Synthetic vs. Regular Brake Fluid21 Jun 2006 14:30 GMT5
I am changing out the rubber brake lines with stainless steel on my '90
Miata and need to bleed the entire brake system.  Trying to decide if I
should go with a synthetic brake fluid like Valvoline or a regular DOT
3/4 like Castrol GT/LMA.  All input is appreciated.

reviews of 07 MX-5?18 Jun 2006 08:47 GMT3
I've seen a few reviews but wonder about how good the head lights are and
history of the miata's drop top (leaks, cracks forming). Never owned a
convertible before. I wonder how hard it is to drop/raise the top? I'm in
the US (Midwest). I wonder if the car's a too hot seller for ...
