Trip report30 Jul 2007 14:41 GMT13
Just got back from a trip to Yellowstone in my '96. Lemme tell ya, the roads
in the park are perfect Miata country! Mind, I'm not an auto-crosser, what I
like is curvy up-n-down cruising and with Yellowstones scenery this is
perfection.
Mazdaspeed versions - extra garage work needed or just fine?30 Jul 2007 02:36 GMT9
I'm toying a little bit with the idea of some day replacing my 1999 NB
with a 2004/2005 Mazdaspeed version but since they aren't sold here in
Europe it's a bit of a project :-)
But how is it to share the life with a Mazdaspeed version? Is the Turbo
Solstice is huge29 Jul 2007 17:24 GMT32
I have not seen one of these up close until today when one was in the
work parking lot. It's huge compared to my NB. The 18" wheels didn't
help either. It's a good looking car in itself but I thought this was
suppost to be a Miata competitor...? Top sucks too. :P
upholstery shop in Los Angeles area recommendations29 Jul 2007 16:28 GMT1
It's time for a new top for my 97M.  I guess 10 years isn't that
bad.   Any recommendations for a place around LA or OC?
TIA
Cup holder - looking for alternative for an NB27 Jul 2007 13:30 GMT4
Of course there are all ready two cup holders in the small box between
the seats but since I'm a large guy it's sort of where my arm needs to
be when shifting.
I have seen pictures where there is some sort of cup holder placed to
Good Miata mechanic in Los Angeles27 Jul 2007 07:18 GMT1
My forced-induction '90 miata is in need of some trouble shooting.  Does
anyone in the LA area have a mechanic they can recommend?
Thanks,
Roland
Roll Bars???26 Jul 2007 20:05 GMT66
How many of you have had roll bars installed???
I always have thought it strange that they weren't/aren't required.
mine is a 2000 Miata MX-5.
I have always told my Wife that if we get into a roll over wreck, try
Little red light25 Jul 2007 23:53 GMT5
I was just wondering if any of you have a little red light
on the top of the steering column just in front of the gauges
and if so, what's it for?
I'm new to the group and I haven't seen that many Miatas
Dash Borad Toppers???25 Jul 2007 16:44 GMT1
On the Miatas (mine is a 2000) that have Air bags (Not sure what year
that began, since my 94 Chevy S10 P/U doesn't have any), can you and
do the make one of those dash board topper/protectors, that can be
placed on one?? Or might that interfere with the passenger air bag
flashing airbag light, how make it stop?24 Jul 2007 05:26 GMT5
I bought a '92 that was crashed.  The repair shop didn't replace the airbag.
It deployed in the crash.  So now the airbag light flashes continuously.
How can I make it stop flashing?
Thanks,
NC Header23 Jul 2007 19:27 GMT1
Finally got enough miles on NC to start changing things.  Want to install a
header.  Saw a post on a forum about an NC Header, but lost the link :(
Can't find anything on NC header online now.
Anybody have info on NC header?
Differential Leak23 Jul 2007 18:14 GMT2
I have a 1996 Miata.  I notice a leak in the differential today.  It's
where the right stub axle connects to the differential.  What's mostly
likely costing this leak?
I found any article in miata.net to replace the differential seal, but
Miata books?22 Jul 2007 01:30 GMT5
I like my MSM so much that I'm actually going to do my own maintenance.
And also, make plans for next summer when the warranty runs out. I just
ordered some books on Amazon (see below). Anyone know of any other good
ones? One called "The Enthusiast's Shop Manual" looked very good ...
$133.19 for a #$%#$% key!!!22 Jul 2007 01:24 GMT13
I went to my local lock & safe to get a key cut for my 04 msm, only to
discover it has a transponder which only the dealer can program. I call
the local Mazda dealer, Lakeland Automall (http://lakelandautomall.com) in
Lakeland, FL, and the fellow I spoke to said the key would be $46 ...
Oil Overfilled21 Jul 2007 16:36 GMT9
Not the first time I over filled oil in my '91 Miata. The last time I
overfilled a couple of quarts and had to bring it to a shop to drain out the
excess oil.
Now, I have added about a half-quart too much oil. Its about a quarter of an
