| Cam Position Sensor | 29 Sep 2007 13:55 GMT | 9 |
My cam postion sensor just died on my 94 (~185k mi). My mechanic (Howard at the Sports Car Center for the STL locals) said this is the first he's ever replaced on a Miata (and he works on lots of Miatas). He called me later in the day after I got the car down there (1st tow in ...

| Hurray! Another year of fun! | 28 Sep 2007 23:39 GMT | 3 |
My 16-year old MX-5 needed its MOT a month ago (MOT being the UK test every car has to undergo every year to ensure it's safe). Due to a move it's been sitting in front of my house for that entire month looking glum. I finally got it tested yesterday and it passed, first time, ...

| What would you charge? | 28 Sep 2007 20:13 GMT | 10 |
Always hard to come up with a price on a modified car, especially one with high miles, 153,000 in this case, though almost all of the mods were done after 110,000 miles, and the car was driven gently before that. The blue book value has dropped so low that I am pretty sure I would ...

| ISO: Oil Change Info | 28 Sep 2007 03:33 GMT | 3 |
I recently bought a '99 Miata and would like to change my own oil & filter. Are there any gotcha's I should know about? Also, are 3rd party oil & air filters (like Fram or Purolator) okay to use? Thanks in advance.

| New top. | 27 Sep 2007 17:02 GMT | 27 |
I'm less that thrilled with my new top, yesterday I found the rear window was coming unglued, the same problem that "mdginzo" posted Aug. 8th. Mine lasted from 9/6/07 to 9/10/07 or maybe not, I noticed it last night but it could have begun separating sooner than that?

| heat on the right leg. exhaust heat protections?? | 27 Sep 2007 06:24 GMT | 4 |
This is my first post onto this newsgroup, since I have only had my mx-5 nb1 1.8 for two weeks now :) I think there is no need to coment all the good things about the car, so I will go straight to the point:

| Re: MIKE'S Place in Phoenix | 26 Sep 2007 05:56 GMT | 1 |
Two things to take noet of at Mike's: Do they still use that outdated swamp cooler still? I'd steer clear of any garage that uses the word 'Mecca' as part of their slogan! --------------= Posted using GrabIt =---------------- ------= Binary Usenet downloading made easy ...

| Stalling Issue | 22 Sep 2007 17:46 GMT | 6 |
I have a 92 Miata with almost 90k miles. The engine stalls sometimes when I engage the clutch and put the shifter into 1st gear. If I leave the shifter in neutral then no problem. Sometimes the engine doesn't stall but rpms drop very low but when I take the shifter out

| ONE headlight on my 1991 Miata will not go down | 20 Sep 2007 21:00 GMT | 2 |
I can manually retract it by turning the little knob thing behind the light under the hood. It comes up every time I turn on the lights or hit the button on the inside but when I turn the lights off or hit that inside button again, only the passenger lights goes back down by

| Puzzling cooling system problem..any ideas? | 20 Sep 2007 01:53 GMT | 10 |
(This is not about a miata, but I included that NG because the general Mazda NG looks about DOA.) One of my cars is a '90 Protege...great sturdy little machine and with over 182K miles, it runs great and is so clean under hood you could

| How to check if I have Torsen LSD | 19 Sep 2007 22:10 GMT | 34 |
I have a 96 Miata. I've read on the web that this year's model comes with either an open or Torsen differential. With my car on stands, when I spin the one rear wheel, the other wheel will spin in the opposite direction. When I hold one of the wheels

| Valve stem guide job cost? | 19 Sep 2007 19:20 GMT | 5 |
My 2000 Mazda Protege ES is starting to puff some blue smoke in the mornings when its chilly out. I start it, it puffs blue smoke, and then after warming up it quits.

| Timing belt change | 18 Sep 2007 16:12 GMT | 1 |
I will be having the t-belt replaced on a 4-cyl '93 soon (B6 engine type), and the local garage has given me an estimate based on OEM belt AND two other bearings (?). I know the tensioner bearing (?) should be replaced at the same time,

| LED lights in 91er | 16 Sep 2007 18:53 GMT | 2 |
As a member of the technical committee of the dutch MX-5 Club I plan to experiment with LED lights: brakelights, drl and signalling lights. Before taking the first step, I'd like to ask you guys your experience with LED bulb replacements. Any thoughts, good products or ...
