Dumb Question: Cigarette Lighter30 Nov 2007 22:06 GMT1
Hi Gang:
I couldn't find a cigarette lighter/12 V power outlet on a 99 Miata
which I loaned from a friend.
Does anyone has a clue where it might be?
2001 miata hard top defrost pig tail28 Nov 2007 15:15 GMT2
I have a hard top that I purchased used.  It was on an older miaita,
but fits my car a 2001 just fine.  I do not have the proper connection
for the defroster, how, where can I purchase the correct connector?
Is it avvailable from an after market location, or is it a dealer only
rearview mirror stuck on 1992 miata27 Nov 2007 18:03 GMT3
the passenger side rear view mirror is manually adjusted, and it is stuck on
the ball joint or whatever the stalk is called that it is sitting on.
I put some torque on it and it didn't budge.
Is it ok to really twist it hard to free it?
Click + Clack puzzler.27 Nov 2007 01:08 GMT13
Speaking of car names, did you hear this weeks puzzler on Click and Clack?
Name three cars that are named with plural nouns.
Any ideas ?
1999 Miata - Gasoline odor inside the car26 Nov 2007 15:50 GMT11
In the mornings when I get in the Miata, I smell the distinct odor of
gasoline.  The car is garaged.  No spills detected.
I checked under the hood and did not smell anything so I'm assuming that the
source is not in the engine compartment.
latches at maximum... what else?26 Nov 2007 13:10 GMT9
Today I've put on my hardtop and the latches seemed loose, so I've tried to
adjust its tension by turning the hex bolts in them. I've found out that
they are already at its maximum, so there is no more thread available for
those adjusting hex bolts.
Auto-Dim Mirror w/Temp & Compass24 Nov 2007 15:24 GMT1
Anyone install a auto-dim mirror w/temp & compass in their NC?  I understand
some have bought the one designed for the Mazda5 and it works fine.

Brake thump - FIXED IT!!!20 Nov 2007 17:22 GMT5
I found the problem.
It wasn't a loose battery. (good suggestion though)
It wasn't the sway bars or end links.
It wasn't the brake pads, clips, springs, pins, or calipers.
Oil drain plug18 Nov 2007 00:09 GMT18
Folks,
I was just at the Miata.net site looking for the torque specs for the drain
plug on my '03.
In the torque spec section it states 22-30 lbs for a 19mm plug.
Miata suspension straw man17 Nov 2007 06:12 GMT2
I'm looking to upgrade my suspension soon and I've done a lot of
research online and even taken a few rides.  I'm be using my car for
autocross, track days, and some commuting (I have a 2nd car, but
prefer driving the Miata when possible).  My car is a 96 stock miata
Best way to add horsepower without voiding warranty?15 Nov 2007 03:12 GMT19
I have a 2007 PRHT MX-5 and would like to add some more power but I dont
want to void the warranty. Is that request mutually exclusive?
I would like to add a bolt on exhaust, cold air intake and if possible a
bolt on turbo unit, preferably all of those would be made specifically ...
Groaning noise from rear suspension15 Nov 2007 02:06 GMT6
Hello again, all my Miata friends;
My 96 M Edition started making a groaning noise recently, from the
rear of the car. You can place your hand on the body just above either
rear wheel and press slightly and the car will groan. When driving it
Cracks in soft top14 Nov 2007 04:07 GMT2
The tan vinyl top on my 1999 Miata has developed a small (about 1/4 inch)
crack on each side where the top folds, just above the window.  The top
doesn't seem to leak yet.  Can anyone recommend some kind of goop that will
seal the cracks and stay flexible enough to withstand the ...
black tonneau13 Nov 2007 05:11 GMT18
I'm needing a black tonneau cover for an M1...the OEM one that covers the
entire cockpit and doesn't have the headrest pockets.  Anyone have one in
good shape laying around gathering dust they could part with?  I don't need
any of the hardware.  Don't ask what happened to the one ...
Saddest day of the year...12 Nov 2007 03:04 GMT9
