I need a source of second hand bits in the UK - My
1994 C220D has decided to wipe its windows when I indicate

- my only local 2nd hand parts supplier is looking at a couple of weeks,
Intermittent non-starts, temporary dying out on 93 300E28 Aug 2003 19:29 GMT6
I just recently acquired a beautiful 1993 300E  (2.8) with only 81,000 miles on
it.  I am experiencing a problem:  On some occassions, the car would crank but
would not start.  I would wait a few minutes, perhaps trying to crank it a few
more times, and then it would ultimately ...
hydropneumatic suspension28 Aug 2003 16:40 GMT6
Does anyone here know much about the hydropneumatic suspension? I have an
1984 Euro 500SEL, this was my first Mercedes that I purchased with such
pride and happiness, but my head is hanging low due to the problems I'm
having. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Steering Column Removal and Replacement28 Aug 2003 05:15 GMT1
I've been trying to replace my steering coupling in my '79 300SD and have a
few questions about the steering column.
I got to the point of removing the hood pad, now I need a socket that'll fit
the nut... So my question is, once I get that off, how do I proceed to
Mercedes Diesel Fuel System Upgrade Question For Use With Biodiesel27 Aug 2003 17:13 GMT5
I have a '79 300SD Turbodiesel. I've been toying with the idea of running
the car on Biodiesel, which is renewable, clean burning, not carcinogenic,
etc. (see www.biodiesel.org). Apparently, the only issue with using
Biodiesel according to the NBB (National Biodiesel Board) is that ...
Sprinter Manual26 Aug 2003 14:56 GMT1
Where can I get a (uk) manual for an early ('95 308D) sprinter?
Currently I've got no idea what tyre pressures/oil type etc. should be.
Anyone got a medium wheelbase sprinter and knows off the top of their heads?
Cheers
How much did your last traffic ticket cost you?26 Aug 2003 02:51 GMT13
If you get fined for a traffic violation, what does it cost?  Obviously
there's the fine itself.  If you had to leave work to go to court, add the
price of your lost time and wages.  Don't forget to include your increased
insurance premiums, which will probably add up, over several ...
Roll backward on incline automatic26 Aug 2003 01:00 GMT3
I have a automatic 99 E320.  I've noticed that at hills(inclines) (somewhat
steep, but nothing out of the norm) the
car will roll backward when it's in drive if my foot isn't on the
brake.  Is this normal?  Has anyone else experienced this?
1987 300 tdt won't start26 Aug 2003 00:24 GMT4
This is my friends car, He got stranded in Tenn. so I hauled him and his
vehicle back home. He had had problems with the thing not wanting to start
but if he tried it several times finally it would. It seems to not crank
real fast even with the battery fully charged. This is a ...
help: 87 300d - how to remove/install trim strips on roof25 Aug 2003 20:17 GMT2
87 300D Turbo (124)
I had the car repainted and they screwed up the masking. Can these strips that
run alone the roof line and down along each side of the windshield be pryed off
and snapped back on (like the door and fender moldings)?
Continental tires25 Aug 2003 19:25 GMT4
I have a 2003 E500 which was delivered from the factory with Continental
tires. This is the first MB that I have bought new that did not come with
Michelin tires. I have noticed that I have to add 5 to 10 pounds of air
about every 2 or 3 weeks. All the tires seems to have the same ...
300D won't shut off!25 Aug 2003 18:18 GMT5
My 1987 300D turbodiesel won't shut off all of a sudden.  It keeps running
after I turn the key off, although it runs rough, like it's trying to shut
off, but keeps dieseling.  The windows and door locks all work OK, so I
don't think I have a vacuum leak.  What could be the problem? ...

Short version of a long story...
My wife and I were traveling home to Alaska from a trip to Washington
D.C. in April when we stopped in Chicago to see our daughter. We went to
the Fletcher Jones MB dealership there to look at a Starmark 2000 CL500
