My 300SDL is in litigation and not likely to be running for a LONG time. I want to replace it. Which is better, the early '90s 350SDL or the late '80's 300SDL? What should I look for? Why is one better than the other? Clay

| 1980 300SD Resurrection Project | 23 Aug 2003 07:40 GMT | 2 |
My son's 1980 300SD 116 with ~200M well tended miles has had it's vacuum pump disintegrate. The ultimate result is a camshaft with 3 non-contiguous pieces. He recalls a sudden very bad chug-chug-chug and then a load metallic snap!

I just got a used 1989 190e. It has some minor problems but I have managed to fix most of them except the ignition tumbler. It takes about 5 min. to start the car because the key always jams in the ignition tumbler. I know it is the tumbler because once it turns, everything works ...

Ok, I've heard it's impossible and I've heard it's easy. What's the real story on how hard it is to replace the air conditioner/heater fan on a 1982 240d? If there are any tricks or tips, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks in
