| Does this sound like bad ground wire? | 18 Aug 2003 04:32 GMT | 1 |
1983 300SD with no recent electrical work done. Today I am driving home and the radio begins turning off intermittently. The radio's LED display cuts out as well. I then notice that turning the headlight on and off causes the speedometer and tach to jump about 10%. While applying ...

| V6 Smart Roadster | 17 Aug 2003 22:36 GMT | 5 |
I was just reading about the V6 Smart Roadster, sounds like a cracking car. They have taken two of the triples and glued them together to make a 1.4 litre V6 turbo engine, weighing 92kg, and shoved it into the Smart Roadster. The engine develops 171bhp, and the car weights 840kg. ...

| 1984 190D RPM gauge will not work | 17 Aug 2003 20:10 GMT | 3 |
The rpm gauge on my 84 190d will not work. 84 and above do not have a tach amp so I can't do that quick easy fix. I made the assumption it was a bad RPM sensor so I replaced it. The rpm gauge still does not register. I don't know where all the sensor wires go once they go to

Any idea where I can get a picture or print of the throttle linkage on a 1984 380sl. There is a ball socket mounted on the fire wall with a spring loaded shaft that goes to a bracket on the engine - there is something

| 1979 300SD Def blows fuses | 17 Aug 2003 05:16 GMT | 1 |
I've got 278K miles on this great old car. The engine is in great shape, but the rest of the systems aren't quite so resilient. The latest problem is that my defroster for the front windows is blowing two of the fuses whenever I try to use it. It has consistently blown

| Towing Capacity of 1994 E320 Wagon? | 17 Aug 2003 02:24 GMT | 1 |
I'm thinking of putting a trailer hitch on my 1994 E320 station wagon to tow a utility trailer that might hold 1,000 pounds of stuff (furniture or garden tractor, e.g.). I'm not sure of the weight of the trailer itself. Is the car built for such a thing? Is it pre-wired for a ...

| Q: what are weak/strong points in 560 SEC | 15 Aug 2003 19:08 GMT | 3 |
I'm thinking of buying a 560 SEC (late 80s) - do any of you happen to know what to look for when inspecting the car? Any particular strong points that should be OK where any repair or damage would become costly?
