My parents are owners of a 99 C280, and after 4 good years they are
thinking of upgrading to a bigger model, maybe not this year but next

I have an ABS system light  that came on , is on whenever I drive the car

The light came on before I noticed any vibration.  What should I check?

I have searched for other messages addressing this with no luck.  I just
bought a 1989 560SEL.  Doesnt take much volume to cause the speakers to
rattle.  maybe its overloading or maybe the speakers are shot.  Went to
price an upgrade and 3 stores so far have treated me very poorly.  ...
Which used Mercedes to buy11 Aug 2003 02:34 GMT2
I am interested in a used Mercedes diesel for economy but also because I
would like to run biodiesel. I am leaning towards a turbo diesel model since
I live in Colorado and I have heard that diesels tend to be dogs,
particularly at altitude.

Loose Steering in 89 560SL -- Lots of Play -- How to fix?11 Aug 2003 01:44 GMT3
I just bought a beautiful 89 560SL, white with burgundy interior. It's
in great shape except for two problems.
First, there is a lot of play in the steering. I can probably move the
wheel about 3-4 inches back and forth without feeling the car change

And I am very impressed! Technology has come a long long way in 9 years, the
on-board computer seems to have endless functionality, and thats even before
Well excuuuuse tha boyz!10 Aug 2003 14:49 GMT4
I say old chapie! You just cawnt get good speakers today! And that holds for
people as well as in the MB karz. Since you seem to have some sort of love for
older lanaguages which have mostly gone out of favour with the majority of the
world, and since you seem to be regretably short ...
Active steering? (know anything about it on MB?)10 Aug 2003 08:51 GMT1
Can someone refer me to information about Mercedes and their planned
implementation of active steering? The new BMW 5 series will have it
as an available option, and I thought that Mercedes would have
something similar. Thanks in advance.
