Please help: '95 E320 wagon11 Jun 2004 14:12 GMT4
My mother (in California) owns this wagon (63k mi.) and is having two
problems which she wants me (in New York) to help her out with, to wit:
1) oil leak coming from the passenger side of the engine, "up front,
under a heavy plastic cover on the underside of the engine." She's been
Tired of black front wheels?11 Jun 2004 14:00 GMT2
Every time you replace pads with any German brand you will be forever
cleaning your front wheels. All that black brake dust from all the graphite
in Pagid and all the others will mandate jugs of wheel cleaner. Next time
try "Rotex Gold" pads which have no black brake dust. I got ...

No AC or anything on.  The black fan doesn't come on when i first start.
Should the white fan only come on when the engine hits a certain temp?
Rear Bose Premium Sound Woofer, 1998 C280 Sport:11 Jun 2004 03:03 GMT3
My 1998 C280 sport /w Bose premium sound has a "rattle", I guess is the best
way to describe it, in the rear deck. I am not able to discern whether this
is something loose, like a screw, or a clipping weld in the voice coil.
Has anyone else had similar rattles in the bass/sub region ...
Plastic Radiator repairs possible?11 Jun 2004 03:02 GMT5
The upper (plastic) inlet tank on my '88 190E's Radiator has developed a
nice crack and I need it repaired soon. BTW this is not at the hose
connection, but further along the top.
I have heard that there is a way to replace just the plastic parts on these
Change to synthetic oil?11 Jun 2004 02:41 GMT8
When I purchased my '83 MB 300D (~350K miles) the previous owner said she
used LE 8800 Monolec Ultra Engine Oil (link below) in the car for years.  I
use Mobil Delvac 1 in my VW TDI.
Would it be wise to use Delvac 1 in my 300D?
300E fan clutch11 Jun 2004 01:32 GMT2

experience with this?

Any good A/C sites?10 Jun 2004 20:43 GMT2
I've had a Google, but it has just come back with the usual rubbish.
Does anybody know of any good websites that will give me information about
Mercedes airconditioning?
Ideally I would like electrical schematics and fault-finding guides for my
Heater Blower Problems - HELP!10 Jun 2004 20:30 GMT7
For reasons best known to itself, my heater blower decided to only
work on full blast today. It has been working no problem at all. Went
to drive the car today, no fan! Turned it up, and it finally came
alive on setting IIII (full blast).  The aircon is working 100%.

380 SEC Fog Lights10 Jun 2004 05:20 GMT3
I can't remember when my fog lights didn't work.  One day I just noticed they wouldn't come on.  I checked the fuse; it's good.  Next I replaced the bulbs; still no help.  Everything else in the Benz works including all the other lights.  Where do I go from here?  Thanks!
Here we go - big SBC recall by MB and Botch ...er, Bosch10 Jun 2004 04:48 GMT7
It appears there are additional problems with the brake-by-wire
technology to be aware of.  What an unfortunate development.

Parabolic leaf spring10 Jun 2004 00:34 GMT5
I'm looking at some marketing material from DaimlerChrysler, about the
second-generation A-Class. In reference to the suspension, they talk about a
"sph?rische Parabelachse." Would that be something like a central-link rigid
axle with parabolic leaf spring? Is that a concept that ...
