Ok all you climate control wiring gurus23 Sep 2004 21:52 GMT3
There I was trying to figure out why I was not getting heat in my '81 300TD.
The circulator pump was running and the heat valve was opening and closing
when I had the temp to hot and was pulling its connector off and putting it
back on.  But, still no heat.
O2 Sensor 1989 190E, 2.623 Sep 2004 20:03 GMT2
Trying to change the O2 sensor.  It is under the passenger seat, in the exhaust
pipe, pointing up.
I have the special O2 sensor socket and can get it over the sensor.  But the top
of the socket is up in the shaft hump next to the shaft and I can't get the 1/4"
Mercedes 260E 199023 Sep 2004 06:32 GMT2
It just occasionally stalls in the traffic for no reason. About once a
week. The car is excellently maintained and serviced. It's got me beat.
Vacuum Pump Conversion23 Sep 2004 01:49 GMT6
Is there an electric vacuum pump conversion for the '81 300TD Turbo or has
anyone ever done this?  Even if there was never a conversion kit, I'm
thinking I could gather the parts to do this cheaper than fixing my current
pump.

88 260E Gauges problems22 Sep 2004 22:26 GMT6
First off the odometer and trip meter quit working, second the fuel gauge
started going crazy if it got below a 1/4 of a tank, the needle would
swing to full and back to empty.  Did this for about a week and now the
gauge doesnt work at all, the reserve light now flashes ...
fitting Parking Sensors22 Sep 2004 16:48 GMT2
There are plenty of parking sensor kits available on eBay.
Has anyone tried  fitting a set to their car ?.
I have a 1998 E280 (auto) saloon.
A cursory look around the rear bumper and it looks a bit like trying to
The cars Mercedes failed to make22 Sep 2004 15:51 GMT6
just recently german classic car magazine Motor Klassik brought a
comparison between the most terrific german cars of the 70's: Porsche 930
Turbo, BMW M1 and Mercedes 450 SEL 6.9. In this article editor Alf Cremers
suggested that Mercedes made a mistake by not fitting the 6.9 ...
A/C Compressor Dilemma22 Sep 2004 14:30 GMT3
After having recently charged my original A/C compressor with oil (the
system was blowing cold already), about a week later it seized.  When
I removed it, it was dry...no oil.  And the system was still blowing
cold as it seized -- the R134a hadn't leaked out.  People told me for

rolls royces from germany, mercedes from portsmouth21 Sep 2004 22:02 GMT3
At least Mercedes are built in Woking now...
"Around 140 highly qualified employees manufacture up to 500 units of the
Gran Turismo in Woking each year. The SLR is available in limited numbers,
in keeping with its exclusive character. During the vehicle's seven-year
Milwaukee's CLUELESS SW side M-B dealer21 Sep 2004 20:27 GMT2
Went to the parts counter at International Auto, Milwaukee's #2
Mercedes dealer, for a brake light bulb for a 1993 W140.
Think they could find the correct bulb on the computer?
Think they could find any reference material at all?

my 300e was in storage and since I put it back on the road I cannot open the
hood which is jammed. Do you have any idea as to how I can open it? Thanks
Do I need a resonator?21 Sep 2004 15:49 GMT3
I have an 86 300SDL with a hole in the resonator, or center muffler. The
rear muffler is fine.  I once had a truck with the same problem, and ended
up just having the resonator removed and running the pipe directly to the rear
muffler.  The loudness increased just a tad which I ...
