Fuel distributor Question (CIS), 30020 Oct 2004 02:05 GMT3
It has been suggested that a leaking fuel distributor on my 1990 300CE
is the probable cause of warm-starting problems. Indeed, when I removed
the air cleaner, depressed the flap and looked down with a flashlight, I
saw fuel at the bottom, indicating a leak. I think it should be ...

Headlight bulb19 Oct 2004 20:49 GMT6
This is one for the books. I have a 1989 560 SEL. Last night the right side
headlight bulb went out. Today I purchase a pair (like to replace the two
instead of just one). I bought Sylvania SILVERSTARS to replace old bulb.
Here is the really dumb question, how do you take the old ...

Another quick question;  my wagon (great car, btw) has about 280K

Veg oil conversion for a 300SD?19 Oct 2004 20:45 GMT8
I see there is a co. selling a conversion kit for any diesel for $800.
(www.greasecar.com) I suppose my 85 300 SD would run fine on veg. oil,
right? Funny thing is that diesel used to be 10cents LESS than reg.
unleaded, and now it is $1.95, actually abt 10cents MORE than reg ...

Quick question about the "unleaded premium fuel"

driven...
I wondered since I was driving used cars, if ever
Chain saw oil - good19 Oct 2004 10:25 GMT23
I tried adding 2 liters og chain saw oil to my engine. The oil is thick and
"glues" well. Used for chain saws for the chain to be lubricated. Really
cheap also.
This had made my 190 D 2.5 very quiet where it before at aroung 1500 rpm at
S430 2005 MY Seat Belt Adjustment19 Oct 2004 05:28 GMT2
How do I adjust the seatbelt height setting?  In my previous E Class, I was
able to depress a button and slide the bracket up and down.  Now, I can't
seem to move the S Class bracket.
Thanks in advance.
Ignition safety lock - '83 W12619 Oct 2004 05:18 GMT2
The engine of a '83 W126 can be started with transmission lever not only in
P but in any position (e. g. D or R).
May be someone could explain briefly how the ignition safety lock works, and
where or what could be the problem in my case.
Most Economical (MPG) Mercedes Coupe / Roadster?19 Oct 2004 02:03 GMT10
I'm in Europe and am about to buy my first ever Mercedes. I had been
thinking about a 380Sec for awhile (mainly cause Andy Garcia drove one
in the movie Jennifer 8 and I fell in love with it) :)
However, I've just discovered that fuel consumption is only 20 MPG or
brake dust19 Oct 2004 01:06 GMT9
I have a 1994 MB C220 which is bad for depositing black brake dust on the
alloy  rims particularly the front ones, when cleaned they are covered in
the stuff again within 2 weeks of occaisional use.
I have also noticed that some small particles of this material has become
83 240d wiper problem19 Oct 2004 00:54 GMT1
My wipers suddenly work only on high speed and stop wherever they happen to
be in the swipe path when I shut them off.Does this sound like a typical
relay problem?
I removed the relay behind the instrument cluster and looked at it but cant

190E 2.3-16 :: sticking accelerator18 Oct 2004 19:22 GMT2
I have the above car with a slight problem: The accelerator keeps sticking
down and reving the engine like mad. It seems to mostly happen when moving
off after idling for a while (or moving off when the engine is hot). It
*always* happens in traffic jams -- the stop-start motion ...
