1989 260 E Blower Motor Fuse08 Nov 2004 00:23 GMT1
The blower motor stopped running on my '89 260 E. I wanted to check the fuse, but the pre-printed
card in the fuse box states that the blower motor fuse is located outside of the fuse box. The
owner's manual says nothing about this fuse, and I don't have a shop manual for the car. ...
2004 E320 4matic07 Nov 2004 22:03 GMT1
I am considering picking up a 2004 E320 4matic with low mileage but am a bit
uncertain because I've heard that Mercedes is having reliability issues with
their cars.  I've done some random "polling" i.e. talk to people at gas
stations, at the mall and I'm getting mixed signals ...

the instrument panel to replace them?
W115 Unleaded Petrol Question07 Nov 2004 15:35 GMT3
Just a quick question; does anyone know if a 1969 W115 220 will run on
unleaded petrol without problems? I know that many UK cars from the
late '60s need converting as the valve seats are too soft. Does this
also hold true for barvarian beasties?
ABS on 560SL07 Nov 2004 06:05 GMT1
The ABS warning light comes on when I make a left turn and the car is cold.
After being driven for some time and the car is warmer, on restarting, the
light goes out and remains out.  The problem seems to be a bad connection.
Any ideas?
C180K or C220D06 Nov 2004 21:38 GMT6
I'm in the UK and looking at either C180K (petrol) or C220D (diesel)
estates.  Probably automatic.
The performance of both is very similar, and although the diesel is more
economical it costs almost £3000 more, so may not end up cheaper overall.

W126 Transmission Acting Up in Reverse !06 Nov 2004 10:20 GMT16
After startup and a little warm up time elapse, I put shifter in to "R"
position, Nothing happen! No sign of gear engaging and will not creep
backwards. Until I step on the gas pedal a little, suddenly the gear
engaged "reluctantly" and the car started to backup! All forward ...
1985 190E 2.3 oil consumption06 Nov 2004 06:23 GMT9
A relative passed away and I'm considering buying his car, a 1985 190E
with 2.3 engine and 82000 miles on it.  It runs very well but needs a
quart of oil about every 1000 miles (using 10W-40). The oil doesn't seem
to be dripping on the floor and I've driven it quite a bit and ...

Tracing a short in a 240D?04 Nov 2004 23:45 GMT13
My old 240D has never had electrical problems until now, when it may have
been caused
by a lot of rain we had recently. I need to use it or I'd leave it a few
days until things dry out a bit.
