| Diesel Sports | 07 Dec 2004 18:12 GMT | 1 |
Saw my first sporty car with diesel engine this afternoon! I knew about the CLK 270 CDI, of course, and there was a participant in this NG who had one (in the Netherlands). Now I saw one in London. Actually -- heard it. In a quiet residential area the 'dieseling' was just ...

I just took my 1997 E420 with 83,300 miles on it to Loeber Motors in Lincolnwood, IL (NW Chicago suburb). A week ago, the engine was making a hissing noise, and the idle was very rough (reving and nearly dying, over and over). I popped the hood, and

Does anyone know what would be involved in changing from Halogen to Xenon on a 1997 e320? I see the lights available, but thought I read about a ballast (or something else) being required as well

| Starting 190E 2.3-16 | 07 Dec 2004 16:58 GMT | 7 |
I have a temperature specific starting problem with this car which is getting worse. Last winter it started fine. When the weather got warmer (warm enough for the cold start injector to be out of the loop) it took several seconds of cranking to get going. Now that winter is ...

My 1980 300SD has a new problem where it won't always shut off when the key is turned off. The main symptom is that if the car has only been running for a short time, like from cold start to a couple of mins, if the key is turned off, the engine keeps running. After maybe 15-20

Hello to the group: I'm thinking of moving from an '00 E-320 to an S-500. While the car will be an '05, I'm wondering what thoughts, problems, etc. ones might have with that auto in, say '03-04 model. I realize that most here probably have "handmade"

| 21 year Armor-All Experience | 07 Dec 2004 06:08 GMT | 3 |
All Vinyl's and Plastics are not created equal - most like Armor-all, some don't. I have a 21 year old dash that I protected with Armor-all for most of the 21 years and it is shiny, soft and crack-free. It looks just like new. There

| Outside temperature display question | 07 Dec 2004 06:02 GMT | 9 |
I've always had a childish fascination with the (amazingly accurate) instrument panel display of the outside temperature in my 1987 420 SEL. Now it has mysteriously broken and will only register temps in the +80/+90 f range, although the actual temperature is +30/+50 f.

My 1998 C-Class 230K Sport has developed a knocking noise. It comes from the front of the car and sounds as though something is loose. It's particularly noticeable when travelling on an uneven road/pot-holes/speed humps(to be polite) - in fact most of the UK road

| 94 E320 check engine light | 07 Dec 2004 04:15 GMT | 3 |
This light seems to come back (after having been reset) whenever one of the rear wheel slips even a little under power. I noticed it come on when under slight acceleration turning right from a stop. This time my mechanic hooked up to the computer and indeed tracked the
