Stuck steering in w12413 Jan 2005 14:51 GMT31
Hi, my father's 1989 200D w124 has the steering locked, he can't turn the key. Does any one have any "quick" up their sleeves on how
this could be fixed? Would prefer to just remove the whole locking mechanism, don't care about security, nobody'd steal it.
TIA

Mercedes 190E 198513 Jan 2005 05:54 GMT10
Is the Mercedes 190E 1985 (auto) a reliable car?  Anything I should
look out for?
Are there other Mercs in this price range that I should also consider?

Can anybody please tell me the procedure for properly adjusting the

During the last cold spell (down in the 20s) turning the key after the glow
light went out it took about 4 or 5 seconds for the battery to make contact
with the starter. Once it did, it started instantly, as always. Once the
best way to make the exchange when buying from out-of-state private seller12 Jan 2005 01:38 GMT10
I'm thinking of buying a car from an out-of-state private seller.
But, I'm not sure what's the best way to go about it.
Any suggestions?  If things work out, I'm thinking of
having an auto transporter ship the car over.
Rotex Gold brake pads11 Jan 2005 19:28 GMT3
These pads have no black graphite in them so they don't make your front
wheels black. I bought a set for $58 from coximport.com and they are a
steal! They have the same stopping power as o.e. pads and they make them for
all MB's. P.
Nicked mercedes badge11 Jan 2005 18:26 GMT29
Some joker has nicked the 3-pointed star off the bonent of my E320

readily available or have to go to MB directly?
MB E 320 CDI normal engine temperature11 Jan 2005 17:25 GMT4
I was driving a 2003(/8) E 320 CDI at low temperature (0 Celcius). At
low speed (60 to 100 km/h) the engine temperature raised to 100 Celcius,
going down to 95 when idling. The car had less than 10 000 km on the meter.
My own, 2003(/3) E 320 CDI engine temperature hardly reaches ...
shift lever sticks in Park11 Jan 2005 15:18 GMT8
My E320CDI(2000) sticks in Park sometimes. I can shift it by sticking a
pencil down the rear end of the gate (as recommended in the manual). However
I want to get to the mechanism to inspect/re-grease or whatever is
necessary. How do I get the panel surrounding the shift lever off? ...

Advice on buying C class (around '96 model)11 Jan 2005 07:13 GMT1
Hi, I am looking to buy a Merc C class and am planning to spend around
£3500. I have seen a C230 Sport Komp (Nreg) with 121k miles on the
clock. Have had a good look over it and seen a couple of things,
however is there anything I should look out for? Any common faults?
