I have a Merc C230 Kompressor Sports Auto.
When I brake, no matter what the speed, I get a "juddering"
sensation which seems to be running through the car.
The front brake discs were changed on the last service, about 3

engine cutting out:'73 450 SLC16 Feb 2005 12:02 GMT3
I've had this car for about 1.5 years, so I guess its time for
a few problems to start showing up. After all it is 32 years old.
The engine runs fine then, very suddenly, seems like its only hitting
on 4 cylenders. The problem lasts between 1 to 5 seconds and goes
ASR malfunction15 Feb 2005 23:08 GMT21
While driving in the snow/ice yesterday the ASR malfunction light came on in
my wife's '95 E320.  What are the possible causes and are there any ways to
diagnose it w/o taking it to the shop?  The light clears after restarting
the car and driving on roads that there is no ...

What is the new CLS?15 Feb 2005 03:46 GMT9
Saw that gud ole Heavy Carl, the local stealership, is advertising that
it has the new 2006 CLS in stock. Just what is that? Is it the new 2006
S Class, or is it some sort of expanded CL coupe? It is advertised as a
4 door coupe. Of course that begs the question of does it have the
Lost Key15 Feb 2005 02:30 GMT3
Anyone have any ideas on how to obtain a lost key for a W115 240D?
Locksmiths in this area don't seem to be of much help.

Heater switches14 Feb 2005 21:26 GMT4
Good news and bad news relating to my 1999 C Class heater switches.
I decided my heater blower was faulty because of the switch. When the car
was left overnight the blower wouldn't work. After pushing and pulling on
the switch a few time it would come on and work all day.  Yesterday ...
1984 300TD Ball Joint14 Feb 2005 20:53 GMT5
The lower front ball joint on one wheel has lost its rubber boot. The dang
thing still seems to be tight and I've been dosing it with lithium grease
every time it starts to squawk for over a year. These are amazing
automobiles.

Which would you choose?14 Feb 2005 19:46 GMT11
I'm going to replace my '97 E320 with 38K miles and am trying to decide
between two M-B models; I'd keep the "winner" for about five years - the
duration of its warranties. Looking for safety and comfort from a car
whose (costly) complexity will be covered by a warranty.
Benz Model VIN and Engine photos website FYI14 Feb 2005 19:10 GMT1
In some VIN number breakdown searches I was doing
and having trouble finding my Euro 500model, I ran
across this and thought others might find it interesting
or useful for decoding their VIN and for reference.
