| engine cutting out:'73 450 SLC | 16 Feb 2005 12:02 GMT | 3 |
I've had this car for about 1.5 years, so I guess its time for a few problems to start showing up. After all it is 32 years old. The engine runs fine then, very suddenly, seems like its only hitting on 4 cylenders. The problem lasts between 1 to 5 seconds and goes

| Heater switches | 14 Feb 2005 21:26 GMT | 4 |
Good news and bad news relating to my 1999 C Class heater switches. I decided my heater blower was faulty because of the switch. When the car was left overnight the blower wouldn't work. After pushing and pulling on the switch a few time it would come on and work all day. Yesterday ...

| 1984 300TD Ball Joint | 14 Feb 2005 20:53 GMT | 5 |
The lower front ball joint on one wheel has lost its rubber boot. The dang thing still seems to be tight and I've been dosing it with lithium grease every time it starts to squawk for over a year. These are amazing automobiles.

| Which would you choose? | 14 Feb 2005 19:46 GMT | 11 |
I'm going to replace my '97 E320 with 38K miles and am trying to decide between two M-B models; I'd keep the "winner" for about five years - the duration of its warranties. Looking for safety and comfort from a car whose (costly) complexity will be covered by a warranty.

In some VIN number breakdown searches I was doing and having trouble finding my Euro 500model, I ran across this and thought others might find it interesting or useful for decoding their VIN and for reference.
