Timing chain service recommendations for 6 cyl inline engines08 Feb 2005 20:10 GMT5
There seems to be quite a bit of concern with timing chains on the V8
engines but very little on the in line sixes.
I am curiuous what the recommendations are for renewal of the timing chains
and associated components on the 190E 2.6 and the SL320.

About a week ago on MBUSA.com, there was a subsection about the new
B-Class or "Vision B", but it's no longer there.  Previously, it was
accessibly be going under "Future Vehicles".  Does anyone know if
Mercedes' plans to introduce the B-Class later this year have changed?
'04 E500 sinking airmatic08 Feb 2005 00:55 GMT2
Recently I have noticed that my airmatic suspension looses pressure when I
park my car.  I've also noticed that the car rises when I start the engine.
Is this normal?
I have the ride height setting set to normal.

Fuel Injectors...Clean, Replace?07 Feb 2005 04:31 GMT3
My 95 S320 has been acting up lately especially during warm starts.
It appears that fuel is leaking down into the cylinders making it hard
to start when the engine has been off for 15 minutes to a couple of
hours.  The cold start is ok but I think it's getting worse as is the
Why are so many 560SEC for sale?07 Feb 2005 00:09 GMT2
I like the looks and have heard lots of good things about the Mercedes
560SEC.  But with such a limited production run, if they are truly
"keepers," why is the used car market (relatively) flooded with them?
There are at least 5 on eBay right now.   The prices appear to me to be

Rear End Wiggle on Acceleration06 Feb 2005 03:55 GMT4
I have a 1987 300E (not 4matic).  When accelerating, the car pushes to
the left.  When I let off the gas, it pulls back to the right.  The pull
back to the right can be quite sudden and a little unnerving in bad
weather.  The more power being applied, the more noticeable this is. ...

Notice the date. Who does he blame now? Just like he blames others for
all the 'loose cannon" posts he's NOW ashamed of. THEY ARE ALL YOU.

Removing Tension on the poly belt of a 95 C28005 Feb 2005 23:23 GMT1
Can anyone tell me the trick to removing tension on the poly belt of a
95 C280 (inline 6)?  I don't have the full service guide and can't see
how to get a tool on the tensioner that will let me remove the belt.

Timing Chain 500 SEC05 Feb 2005 20:42 GMT3
I have heard that at a certain mileage it's a good idea to replace the
timing chain guides (which are plastic).  However, I am not sure whether or
not the timing chain itself needs to be replaced....  Heard some say yes and
some so no.  Any views out there?  1985 M117-963, 170.000 ...
